Hello I am wondering on how to get started mixing your own liquid it all seems kind of confusing. So I was wondering if anyone knows of any kits or websites that will help me understand it better.
Everything is pretty simple if you do one step at the time. First you have to order what's needed:
nic (stick to 48mg PG which much safer than 100mg)
VG
PG
flavours (get TFA flavors only) (my favourite flavours are Energy Drink and Strawberry) ejuice Me Up calculator (http://ejuice.breaktru.com/)
20ml syringes
5ml syringes
1ml syringes
14g, 16g, 18g Needles
30ml bottles
10ml bottles (for test samples)
You can buy all the stuff at wizardlab.us, vapingzone.com, and so on.
I agree with everything shroom said except "TFA only". I have used a lot of their flavors and still have a a bunch if it. There are several good flavor makers out there. Experiment. TFA is a good place to start and you can find it at DIYonestopshop.com. I also recommend the flavors at vapingzone.com.
One other thing is steeping. Once you've mixed it, the eliquid needs to steep. Some flavors will need to sit longer than others but a week is pretty standard. There are ways to speed the process. You can find whole threads of discussion on that subject in this forum.
make sure you have some recipes so you'll know what flavors to get. way to often people start DIY, get a bunch of flavors then find some recipes and realize they don't have all the flavors they need. Should note, most recipes are a mix of 3 or 4 flavors.
I got into DIY mixing a few weeks ago. I didn't really know if I was going to like it so I started simple with some basic supplies that I could get off the shelf from stores around town.
VG (Glycerine USP) from Rite-Aid
Distilled water from Wally World
LorAnn flavorings from my local candy making supply store
Liquid Sucralose (liquid Splenda or equivalent) from a grocery store
Glass eye dropers from either Rite-Aid or Wally World
A 10ml syringe used for measuring out liquid medicine from Rite-Aid.
An online e-juice calculator.
I was set to start mixing the next day. I looked up some simple recipes from wherever I could find them and made a few small (10ml) batches. I messed one spearmint batch up really bad and wound up dumping it. So I was out less then $1 in materials. Made a caramel apple that I need to tweek a little. Learned alot and didn't brake the bank. Also found how fun DIY mixing can be. I may have to keep a log of experances.
Good Luck.
It's not hard, post lots of questions here as you go. It makes us feel all smart and stuff if we can answer them! Seriously, look through the recipes in the recipes forum, see what flavors keep popping up in the recipes that attract you. Think about what flavors you like and what you would like to try, then jump in and try your hand at it. Reading through the threads in this forum will also give you a lot of helpful information.
