I need help with a really good juice flavor

I'm trying to wean my wife off regular smokes..So I bought a riva kit and some samples from a juice supplier.She smokes menthol now.So I set it up for her and explained that you inhale different...not like a regular..But she cant take a draw without coughing so ..back in the box it goes.
I tried several different juices and all either are too strong or She says they taste like soap or perfume
So I'm not giving up, please if you know where i'm coming from as far as the juice tasting bad please
recommend ANY juice that at the least tastes good. So my question isn't involving trying to mimic
Her brand..rather it's trying to find a mild Flavor she can Vape with out coughing or tasting like soap.

Try torrone it is a very mild nutty flavor kind of hard to explain, I like velvet vapors they have several very mild flavors. I also do not like any throat hit and VV seems to be very smooth. All the flavors I have tried are velvet blend. I use an ego and cartomizers they make juice a little milder usually. Before deciding that vaping is not for her she should try other atomizers, cartomizers, tank system. She may find that changing the carto/atomizers to another brand or style that she might find what works.

What's the PG/VG mix with the juice and which nicotine level? If there's a lot of PG, that can make you cough. Vaping does take some getting used to, just like smoking did. I'd be willing to be that she coughed and hacked when she first started smoking and vaping isn't that different for some people.

Since she just started vaping, her taste buds and sense of smell are messed up. Once she starts vaping instead of smoking these will repair themselves. You might also want to let the juice sit for a couple of days or so to steep. This will sometimes improve the flavor, especially for juices that are made to order.

A friend of mine is a menthol smoker and has had a really hard time changing over. I think menthol smokers have different issues with taste. My friend says that the juices taste too much like smoke with the cool hit of menthol - we've been playing with adding VG/PG to her juice and menthol drops. I "think" we may have found the right balance for her - but have no idea if we replicate it since it's literally been a game of adding a couple of drops to a cartridge of menthol smoke juice.

How about staring a thread with "Menthol smokers - what juice helped you make the transition? in the title?


Buy some VG (look for wilton's pure vegetable glycerin in the icing section of your local craft store) and add just a couple drops to a cart.

Let em ask this - what mg is the juice? what brand (if no brand on the label where did you buy it)?

More info I think is needed.

As reformed menthol smoker, I started with NuPort. A little minty but it was an effective substitute.

Best flavor I've ever tasted and my daily vape is TopVapor Fried Apple from MadVapes.

No menthol or tobacco taste but definitely smooth tasty vapor. Great TH without being harsh.

darkwitless it is 16mg purecig menthol from freedomsmokes along with five other of their flavors. I feel that if I can get something with a burst of good flavor with a mild throat hit.. I'd have a chance getting Her converted.

freedom smokes usa? (I looked and didn't see a purecig on myfreedomsmokes- yes there are 2 named almost the same lol) is a 50/50 blend and according to all the reviews I've read is a strong flavor.

I think you should start a new thread asking for input from Menthol Smokers (in the title)- and include the flavors, the mg and the mix (pg/vg) and her issues and see what type of response you get.

Their VG is thin like PG, so no problems with it being too thick and the flavor is awesome! You should give it a try. They have good prices and super fast shipping also, as well as great customer service. Just my two cents

Any juice with a decent amount of nicotine and a full PG base will be harsh because nicotine is a skin irritant. The more VG vs PG that is in the base, the less harshness and the less TH. I like 70pg/30vg. Some people like 80pg/20vg for more TH, 50/50 for less. Some vape all VG. VG also makes more visible vapor but dulls flavor.

My favorite juices right now
Backwoods Brew Vanilla Bean (70pg/30vg only)
FreedomSmokeUSA oRYental 4 - a caramelly vanilla tobacco (I like 70/30, many other base blends available)
VelvetVapors Vanilla Almond Tobacco (in their Velvet PG/VG blend) - mostly a rich sweet vanilla

And I recommend Boge Soft-cap standard (may say 3.0 ohms or 2.9-3.1 ohms) cartomizers on 510. Nice cartomizers, a bit cooler a more consistent hit I think vs atty+cart

I have been a menthol smoker for 23 years, started with Alpine and worked my way down as the prices went up. I guess I was very lucky with my vape, I got mine from heaven gifts and its great(Dekang Menthol 30mls.) That said, it also depends on the model you use to vape. I started on a 401 passthrough just to have a go, it was dry, rough and not quiet enough menthol for me but passable. Then I got an Ego (with Ego attys) after finally making a firm decision on what I wanted from my mod (long battery hours, easy refill, long time between refills) this changed my juice to one that is smoother and packed with flavour(to the point where I had to dilute the flavour by 50%.) Now if I then take that same juice I used originally and run it through a low resistance atomiser it goes back to being dry, rough and not quiet enough menthol for me. I don't pretend to know about vaping at different voltages or using high/low resistance atomisers, but I do know that this change from the 401 to the Ego, changed my vaping experiance for the better. The Ego lets me use standard attys, LR attys and 510 attys provided I have the matching cartridges, so for me it was a good starting point because it gave me a few options to explore without having to outlay for more full kits and now it will use a T-Tank atty too.

One key thing that really helped was being told to drink pleanty of plain water while vaping too.
