My protank mini has been working great but now the tank and the atomizer are stuck. I can't unscrew them to refill my mini, although the battery is just fine. I tried with everything and could not get it to unscrew, then I had two of my neighbors try and they couldn't either. I was thinking that plyers would be the next option, although I am scared that plyers would break the tank. I can't get the atty off of the tank! Does anyone know why this would happen? Any "tricks" that I can do to get it unscrewed? Is it just broken forever?

Thanks !

Do you have one of those rubber jar openers in your kitchen? Protanks are slick little jokers. Introducing a bit of rubber into the equation will hopefully work for you.

I've had the very same problem. The way I learned to avoid it is by only grabbing my battery and drip tip, and then tightening the entire train of three threaded joints (including the tank's connection onto the battery), HOWEVER it only works because I use a plastic aftermarket drip tip that seats fairly tight into the Protank's top section. When it spins in place while holding the battery firmly, everything is tight enough to not leak, but easy to open next time.

Rubber strap wrenches are a great general tool to have around for these kinds of things:

Heat and cold are your friends. Put the whole thing in the freezer to get it really cold. Then, take it out and run the tank (the outside part where they screw together) under steaming hot water. You want the atomizer to be as cold as possible and the tank to be as hot as possible. That makes the tank expand and the atomizer contract, so the fit is looser. Then, give them a twist.
