Very frustrating day. Very frustrating year so far. I'm reaching out to my ECF Family.

I NEED A JOB!!!!! I'm willing to relocate if you can help me find one. I'll send you my resume. I really need help.

I'm venting. Sorry for that. I'm just at wits end.

Can't help with the job situation but I empathize with you. I too am a laid off Administrative Assistant (AAS) and it sucks to be a "budget cut" after many years of being employed with the same organization. Good luck with your job search.

Thank you. I hope you find something too. I'll keep a candle lit for the both of us. :)

Oh gosh you guys all have my positive vibrations, good wishes, and/or prayers. (hey whatever you want to call it, KWIM) It is so hard out there right now, if I do hear anything I will be sure to let you know.

CD, I know it probably doesn't help put food on the table, but just know you're not alone, everyone is going through this right now, and no ones job is ever "safe". But, keep looking and applying for anything, and everything you can.

I wish I could do something to help.

I pray daily for those unemployed. It is such a sad event when we have citizens of America who want to work, yet are unable to. When we have so many big corporations shipping out to overseas just to make a larger profit for their stockholders, we find fewer jobs here. I find this a tragedy for America. Just one of too many.
Also for those that do have jobs, employers KNOW they have employees "over the barrel". They can do almost anything, proper or not and should you complain...."there's the door" is now employers attitude. They can find someone willing to accept even less pay and perhaps even do more.

My prayers for you and all others continue.

Rosco, that is the truth. Those that are lucky enough to even have a job, need to be grateful they have one an not complain. The days of the working relationship between employee's and the big guys are long gone. It's not a 50/50 relationship anymore, it's way to one sided, and the really good talented people are the ones that are getting let go. Suck's big time.

Mike was forced into retirement at 60 when his workplace decided to send the jobs overseas. He was too old to find another job and too sick. I am glad he stayed home..he would have killed himself with work.
The only thing I can tell you is that the largest job market in Fl is nursing homes and health care. Drawing blood at hospitals and labs is a big industry and Orlando has NO shortage of health care. Blanket every place that draws blood! Smithcline..ect.

cdrtrip, I am so sorry to hear about this. Question: do you speak/write Spanish at all? I ask because the gears are turning in my head.

Saying "Office Manager" means very little to me. What do you really DO, and what skill sets do you have? Do you arrange travel, handle payroll, work the phones, use any particular software, perform any particular functions, etc. Listing some basics would generate some interest from those who might want to then know the specifics. Know you said you'd wait tables but you can likely find that job anywhere unless your schedule restrictions are too tight or salary needs are too high.

Gee unless your doing an interview right here, I would think what she posted was information enough to get her point across..just saying

Lisa...I'll answer for cdr....she's Cuban...probably speaks pretty good spanish !

Yeppers, I'm fluent in Spanish, conversational in Portuguese and American Sign Language.

Mr Pink:

If u'd like my resume for an interview I'd be happy to supply it. Otherwise, my qualifications are for prospective employers. What I posted is for my family and friends here in The Women's Room to help with suggestions and helping to point me in the right directions. We help each other out. Great bunch of ppl in this forum. :)
