Help lol!

I'm going to be entering the world of DIY liquid and am really excited! I'll be ordering my liquids and flavorings very soon but I realized I'm going to need to learn how to drip in order to test my juices. I've read around here on ECF, checked out websites for dripping equipment and watched YT "how to" vids. I'm lost from the information overload though!

How is a 510 battery different from an Ego twist? Can I use my Ego C Twist as a dripping battery? Are all dripping atomizers basically the same? Are some easier to use than others?

I'd like to get just a basic set up for testing purposes but have no idea what I'm doing. I think I understand dripping for the most part but I learn best by being shown and I have no one near me to show me. I was lost when I entered the world of clearomizers but finally figured things out. Here I go again trying to figure out dripping but I need some help. I can't wait to get to the point where I "get it" and promise to pass it on to other noobs who need help.

I think if I can just get my hands on the hardware I can figure it out but I don't know what to buy. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

This is the video I watched on how to learn to drip:

A 510 dripping atomizer will fit your ego battery, it just won't look flush :) (Trust me I didn't believe it either). Just pick up one of them and a drip tip and you're good to go! Cost me about 5 bucks each in my local vape shop. Or discountvapers has some good prices on them and ship quick. Good luck!

I like the LR 306. I use the 1.8ohm on a standard eGo battery and I'm on the same attie since last Nov. Granted I only use it for testing new flavors. It's really simple. Add a few drops of liquid, put on the drip tip and vape. If you don't like the flavor, pull the attie off the battery and blow the excess out the thread end into a paper towel. Do a quick dry burn and your ready to go. If you want to make sure the old flavor is out, throw a couple drops of unflavored and vape that, then blow out the attie.

You're welcome! Toward the middle of the vid is when he does it when the 510 plus a drip tip. I had like 20 samples coming so I had to learn STAT, I watched the vid and headed to my shop where I picked up the stuff and had some dripping fun that night with all my samples :) You'll get it!

Look at you giving advice, I am so proud!!!
And I thought you said that you would never learn about E-cigs

Thank you everyone, I'm good now, I got this lol!

Your ego has 510 threads, a 510 dripping atty will fit, they are pretty similar in diameter to something like a Boge carto, not as long and don't have the poly fill.

Here is a blog from TheOcelot on dripping, combined with the above video hopefully you can decide what you want. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ip-drip-sound-dripping-page2.html#comment8977

TheSteve your post did it for me, Ocelots blog post was what I needed to see. Big Thank You!

Hi guys, I'm back. I received my 1.8 ohm 510 bridgeless dripping atomizers w/drip tips in the mail yesterday! Yes! So I sat down this morning and got the atomizer/drip tip screwed onto my battery placed 5 drops inside, listened for the gurgle and vaped a few good drags. Things then went south. On my third or fourth drag I got nothing. So I added a few more drops and still nothing. Thinking I didn't have enough juice in the atty I added two more drops and flooded it. That's ok, now I know what people are talking about when they say they flooded their dripping atty lol! I got it all cleaned up and reinstalled and tried vaping without adding any more juice, assuming the atty was full. Got nothing again. It spits and gurgles but that's it. I added two more drops, flooded it again, cleaned it up, reinstalled it on my battery, vaped again and got nothing again.

I'm obviously doing something wrong but dang if I know what it is. I know it works cause it worked for a few drags worth when I first started. There is no bad taste or burning smell. I'm ran my Spinner at 3.3v then 3.6v. My juice is fine, I have some of it in a T3S and get good vapor on it that way. I've read Ocelots blog a few times this morning to make sure I didn't miss any steps...sooo..I'm at a loss.

I've also tried dragging harder then softer, longer then shorter and nada. Am I missing something?

What should I be seeing down in the atty after I drip juice in? Should I be seeing pooled juice or no juice? I'm only seeing either pooled juice (when it's flooded) or no juice in the little white cup down in there where the coil is. Also will an atty work after it's flooded or does it need time to dry out a little or something?

I'm confused when you say you "got nothing" . . even if the atty is flooded you will get a small amount of vapor. If you listen, can you hear it firing? If not then I say your atty is dead. Unusual - but it happens. If it is firing but just producing poor vapor then try blowing it out - like Vet says. I prefer to buy the Cisco Spec LR atties from AvidVaper . .either 510 or 306. They have good quality control - so far never got a dud. I used to buy the cheapest atties I could find . .sometimes I would get some duds . .they either tasted bad or never produced good vapor. I would say my dud rate with *brandx* was around 5% . . not terrible but annoying when it happened.

    Here's how I start using a new atty . . .

I drip 4-5 drops and wait a few minutes. Then vape. I usually get about 4-5 good drags before I need to redrip. When I redrip, I only use about 3 drops since the atty is already wet.

The number of drops depends on your eliquid bottle. I use the bottles from Wizard Labs and 4-5 drops works out for me. With other bottles, I might only use 3 drops. If you flood your atty, keep drawing and it will clear up. If you flood it really badly, then blow it out.

Hi Bosco, what I mean by nothing is actually nothing, no vapor. I can here it firing and gurgling but when I take a drag I get nothing. I've got both of these new atties on two batteries and neither is producing vapor. I guess I won the lottery of dud atties.

    This is what I bought

Might be a dud but did the blowing out and starting over work? What voltage are you at, might be to low for resistance? And avid Vaper has good atties not sure about smartvapes joyes are pretty decent too and can get smoking deal on them from:

    Joyetech 510 Atomizer 5-Pack (2.3ohm) | DigitalCiggz.com

If you are hearing it fire then I am inclined to say they are not bad, have you checked the resistance on them?

I'm using a Vision Spinner set at 3.3v during my last attempt. The ohm on the atty says 1.8. I've also tried it with my Twist battery set at the lowest volts. I did try using both batteries on lowest volts and then up to 3.6 and 3.8 volts and still had no luck after blowing them out and starting over. If I take a drag and don't inhale I get a tiny amount of vapor but if I inhale I feel the throat hit but get no vapor. I'm going to let them sit for a while with the juice they already have in them and see how they do in an hour or so.

Thanks for the link, that *is* a great deal! I think I paid that much for the two I have!
