I started vapeing about two weeks ago to replace my habit of casually smoking cigars and pipes. All research indicated I should opt for a 18mg nicotine level. Placed an order for some tobacco e-juice samples in 18 and became acclimate to the difference between grown tobacco and juice. I have never felt any nicotine addiction and basically smoked as a pastime and relaxation routine maybe two or three times a week. Some of my cigar and pipe tobacco selections have given me a nicotine rush in the past. Now I feel that the purity and % in the juice is too strong as I have a slight buzz going that has lasted for a few days now. I wake up in third gear as opposed to neutral (if you know what I mean). The 18mg samples have been passed on to a heavy cig smoking friend. Current issue I have is that another sampler was in the mail yesterday and it was thought at order time that 18 would be spot on. I am eager to see how the flavors pan out. My thought is to contact vendor and see if another sampler can be purchased at 0mg and packaged in double sized bottles so I can mix what I already have. Is this feasible and if so would I basically wind up with 9mg juice? Lastly given the purity of nicotine in juice could that newly adjusted level still potentially be to strong giving my past tobacco smoking experiences? I know that straight 0mg is an option, but I was hoping to accurate simulate the true smoking experience. So far I have been very impressed with some of the tobacco flavors that are really close to organically grown stuff.

Nic level is tricky. Depends on factors like how deeply you inhale or how often you hit it. I've recommended 18 mg to people that smoke a pack a day or more. 18mg tends to be spot on but some come back that it is too much. Most common complaint is nausea or it keeps them up at night. For those I suggest 11mg or even 6. A pipe or cigar smoker doesn't usually breath in a deeply so 6 or 11 should do. If you order 0 and mix it half and half you are correct that it ends up being 9. Vendor should oblige bigger bottles.

You can mix it with 0mg or a lower one.

The equation would be (nic level #1+ nic level #2) divided by 2. And you are correct, that would make it 9 but you can lower it more by doing 2/3 0 mg and 1/3 18 but then you would be dividing by 3.

You could also get 6mg, mixing it half and half would give you 12mg

IMHO nic does add to the flavor -- so it can get tricky maintaining the flavor one loves when lowering nic level.

I suggest buy your samples at 6 and 12mg levels and only do the diluting once you have established what level is right for you. Put those 18mg bottles in the freezer and let them chill for a bit.

As most liquid is sold in 6, 12, 18 and 24 it would be good to dilute to one of those levels for ease of purchase in the future. Not all vendors carry zero nic.

Only time I lung hit is by accident. I do tend to puff heavy and have always enjoyed exhaling large plumes of smoke. Often from my nostrils.

Most common complaint is nausea or it keeps them up at night. For those I suggest 11mg or even 6.
I fall asleep fine, but have found myself up in the middle of the night which is very unusual. How long will this condition probably last? No vapeing at all now until I get some lower nic.

You may be interested in knowing that most of the absorption of nic in vaping is not in the lungs. In fact, one absorbs more, and I believe more quickly, through the nose.

Sure sounds to me more and more like 6mg will be quite sufficient.

I didn't know that. Thanks tearose50.

Red Horn....I have to agree with tearose50 to try 6mg. I think you were on way to high of a dose. I tend to get jittery like I've had too much coffee when I get too much nicotine but everybody is different. Pipe and cigar smokers tend to not breath into the lungs as deeply as cigarette smokers and thus with analogs don't get as much nicotine. Key is you feel like it is too much so it probably is. Try 6mg on your next order. if it's not enough you still have the 18mg. All of us had to play around a bit when first starting.

p.s. I showed this to someone else. Don't work for the company but my buddy said it was good

Electronic Cigarette Cigar
I originally was intending to get an e-cigar. Only plus with that form factor is that it looks like a cigar. Decided that an EVOD kit would perform better since they all use same juice. Got an MVP 2 inbound so I will have the large plumes of vape i desire. Will use my EVOD batteries for indiscreet out of home use and the 1300 Vision Spinner for outings where I could care less who sees me.

Can not get nic level that low unless I mix in two additional samplers at 0mg. I plan to order some 15ml 6mg cigar flavor from Want2Vape and a 10ml 11mg for brief use when I want a little nic kick. From the five 18mg tobacco juices I tried in their sampler I really like two or three.

IMHO nic does add to the flavor -- so it can get tricky maintaining the flavor one loves when lowering nic level.

Do mean this literally? If so why?

The "let them chill" was a bit of a pun......meaning to just let them sit aside for awhile, er, relax....sort of.

But, I did mean it literally. Though the liquid will not freeze, the cold environment is a great place to store one's liquid reserves. I do believe that light and exposure to air not only degrade the nicotine content, but speeds up the aging process. (So does heat, btw.) Old liquids can get very dark and start to taste icky. Even nic liquid can spoil. Some say one shouldn't keep nic liquid for more than a year. In the freezer, it's more like 2+ or even 2+++ if it's an unopened bottle.

So -- instead of getting all involved in diluting now - just do it later after more experience.

@tearose50 thanks for the info. i didnt know i could keep my juice in the freezer. been storing it in the cigar box i used for my home rolled cancer stick, its dark and fairly temp stable. i find i like some of my juices aged a bit.

That's a great place for that. I still use one flip top box I got an early device in that is just tall enough to hold a 30 mil bottle for my current liquid rotation. The Freezer is for jugs and extras---as the cold slows the aging process.

I certainly have a couple of liquids that I must age before use.....but not my most favorites.
