I received my volt from smokeless image yesterday, super fast shipping 3 days very impresse

So I charged up and put on a SI 555 carto and took a puff....absolutely disgusting
What flavor are they even aiming for? They missed it big time

Okay new product.. probably just a bad flavor so let's try another

SI Freedom is up next
Screwed it on and got sick to my stomach ....nasty!

This tastes like whole wheat rice cakes with a hint of prune

Before I go nuts buying every flavor. Help me out. I vape red label tobacco and absolute tobacco from green smoke and they are amazing. SI is out of cowboy and desert Joe for next few weeks. Should I try these? Of should I try v4l wow cartos tobacco flavors?

Are you using an atty? They usually come with a coating that needs to be blown out before you vape. Will give you a really nasty taste for a while if you don't.

Sorry, just noticed you said carto. Where did you get the juices from?

OK, not coherent yet (rough weekend). Someone will be along in a bit with help. :)

My Volt usually gives a great drag on the first drag, especially on a new Smokeless Image cart. I think this is more an issue of taste preference. It is pretty obvious that the sweet flavors aren't your bag, and SI does not have a large variety of flavors. If they are not out, you should try one of the Smooth Samplers.

I am waiting on my 808-D Dual Coil Clear Cartomizer from MadVapes, along with some new flavors. I would load up on some blank carts (SI is out of those too), and try some small bottles of flavors. You should start getting some great ideas once people start waiking up. Also, I hated Dessert Joe and Cowboy, but love 555 and Ry4, so you may really like one or both of those.

Hang in there! Once you find a flavor you like, you will really enjoy your Volt.

Thanks for the suggestions guys....:)
A dual coil carto for volt? What does this do?

The 555 and freedom from smokeless image don't taste sweet just taste nasty... the classic grape is really good but I just want a good tobacco flavor

I have never chased the tobacco flavors, but I am sure others will help you out with that. Dual core carts have two cores, so, in theory, they should deliver better vapor and flavor. However, the SI carts have a "new gen" atty that runs the length of the cart for a good, stead "burn", so I may not see an improvement. I will let you know when mine come in (hopefully on Wednesday).

If you are really new to this, you may find the site at Welcome to MadVapes LLC a bit overwhelming, but this info may help you:

The Volt is a KR808D-1 standard e-cig (often called "808"). This refers to the size/design/thread of the systems batts and carts. The batteries are 3.6 volts. The 78mm's are 320 mah, the 65mm are 220 mah. Higher mah = longer batt life. The Volt batts have very good batt life FOR AN 808, but you still won't do any better than 2-4 hours. Because of the low voltage of the Volt you CANNOT use a low resistance cart. Stick with "normal" resistance carts at around 2.5. Do not go ANY lower than 2.0. You will fry your batt.

Again, good luck!

This may or may not also help.

When I first started out I read somewhere on this form about changing from a "smoker" to a "vaper". Vaping is more about the aroma and the taste and nothing about the big lung inhale. It was suggested that I draw more lightly, moving my tong slowly so the vapor gently passes over it, so I could get more flavor. Then, after 5-10 seconds, I "breath in". Not so much an inhale, but more of a "push" to the back of my throat and up into my sinuses. Then exhale. When I did this with Ry4, 18mg from Smokeless Images (the guys who sell the Volt), I got a wonderful flavor\aroma and a nice little throat hit (TH). That TH is the closest thing you will get to the "nic hit" you get from a big cigarette inhale.

Finding the flavor\nic that works for you is also critical.

Also, the early process of figuring out vaping is a bit universal. I wrote this about my experience:

I was not too impressed with the volt vapor production compared to green smoke. I noticed the cartos have notches around where they connect to battery I guess to pull air. Green smoke does not have this and just pulls air through ash tip

Agree. Sometimes I get too much air with my Volt. It may have to do with individual carts, but have not tried other options enough to get that figured out.

I have been gaping with green smoke over a year. Green smoke gives me awesome throat hit with great vapor production n flavor but their cartos are a lil pricey so I'm now giving volt a shot. Will a dual coil help me get a better hit?

Dual coils are for bigger battery, higher voltage pvs.

I think you're going to get essentially the same vape with all of the KR808's. Some a tad better, not a huge difference. I've tried the volt and V4L and I thought they were pretty much the same.

If the mini isn't cutting it for you, why not try and ego. You can get a whole kit for $30-35. Get an adaptor for it and use your KR808 cartos on it.

Maybe I will be more happy with the v4l 808 battery? Or is it the same thing?
Maybe I need a longer cut off?

My green smoke are 3.7volt I guess unregulated

V4l batteries do have a longer cutoff. Also, they put out more power. The downside to this, is that many folks have problems mix matching volt\bloog\mf style horizontal coils with the older style (v4l) batteries. They get a burnt taste. I had the same problem with a few juices. But it seemed others were fine. BUT, my v4l batteries were old and may not have been putting out their full charge. It's really gonna come down to you buying and trying some different things to see what you like imo. I really like the nhaler g5 clearo's on Vapor 4 life batteries. But they are horizontal coils as well.

i've come to notice first off that my little auto 808 volt batt has a very tight draw. definately not the same vapor production as my other 808's. everyone can tell you that all 808's are the same and blah blah blah, i can tell you without a doubt that is a lie. every single battery i have hit's different than the next and it's not just a placebo effect.

what i would say as far as your flavor dilemma goes, my honest advice is to tough it out. I've noticed with alot of my flavors that i have to vape them for half a day or so before i actually like them. No joke. Some flavors are almost like acquired tastes like beer or wine. Others, you vape for half a day and decide ok that's still disgusting lol.

The other thing you NEED to understand is not a single tobacco nic juice is going to taste like a cigarette. Not one of them. The sooner you can come to that understanding the sooner you'll be able to start finding the vape flavors you really like.
