I taste VTR and sub ohm tanks question?

Ok so I'm relatively inexperienced to vaping, I know a lot about it, I just haven't tried many products out there. Im currently using an aspire nautilus on my vtr running it at 6v (18.5w) and it vapes rather nicely.

My question is, can you run a sub ohm tank (specifically the atlantis and sub tank) at volts this low? I know people usually vape them at 20-30w, but I can't do that with my VTR.

It would be nice if someone grabbed their sub ohm tank and turned their battery to 15watts and let me know how it is, thank you!

Hello and welcome to the forum Zachsal1. Glad to have you here!:)

The VTR will not fire a coil below 1.0 ohm. So that rules out the Atlantis as the coils are only available in 0.5 ohms.

GRRRRRRR. This is really making me realize how the vtr is just an attractive piece of metal for "newish" vapers. It says it can sub ohm, but I'm pretty sure it can barley handle it anyway you have it set. I don't see why innokin couldn't have just put in the circuit board to go up to 30w! Ill probably put this one up as a nice mantle piece :p

Thank you.

Anyone have any experience with the kanger sub tank and the vtr?

I don't have experience with the subtank BUT I know they won't fit on the VTR without using the extender (it won't fit through the ring).

The VTR has been around at least a year (probably longer). That is why it is only 15 watts.

Ahh that makes sense as too why its output is so low, didn't think of that. FYI the sub tank nano WILL fit the VTR. Thanks again :)

At the time the VTR came out, mass production mods weren't being built for sub ohm vaping for the most part. This industry and technology is moving at an exponential rate. Keep your chin up, get an upgraded mod. There are so many to choose from now that will go high wattage and sub ohm. My personal fave is the Smok M45,as I don't usually go above 40 watts.

I'm running the kanger sub on my VTR at 0.6 ohms and it is doing just fine. I had to upgrade to a higher quality battery but that's it. The vape clouds are phenomenal and the taste is superb. I've been running this set up for about 2 months ... I'll never turn back to my protank3. There's plenty of youtube videos you can watch from very reputable people who have done it.

Wrong. The VTR fired to .6 and will sometimes fire the .5 coil on the ST Nano. I borrowed a nano to get some use out of my $110 paper weight. It did fire the .5 coil but itb

What kind of battery did you upgrade From? Because even a trustfire can handle the VTRs max. Its a weird device it should be able to fire at 60w when running a .6 coil at 6v but it cant. I dont get it, but i know the chip is 15w max evenin VV mode

Just pulled out my "paperweight" and tried firing a 0.5Ω coil. You are correct, it did "barely" fire it but I got little to no vapor.

The chip is limiting your voltage/wattage due to it's 5A limit.

well little to no vapor on a sub tank may be alot compared to what would normally be used on a 15 watt device. that being said i would recommend budget wise an istick 30 or 50. they r cheap don't require a battery or charger. or if you know enough about battery safety grab a 18650 mech tube clone they range from $15 to $20. I run an atlantis on a caravela clone. Just a thought
