I've only been vaping for maybe a month. I've been buying a lot of samples lately trying to find something that I can use all day. At first I made the mistake of ordering a bunch of fruity flavors. I like the fruity flavors, but after awhile the sweetness gets to be a bit much. I was looking for something more mellow. Something I could vape all day and not get sick of after a few hours.

Yesterday I received a sample pack from Heather's heavenly vapes. In the sample pack was something called Dark Horse. It's from their "tobacco" line. It's amazing. Exactly what I was looking for. A real mild flavor close to what you would get from a light cigarette. It's not overpowering, and it's not in your face. Really mellow. The texture of the vapor is silky smooth. I've never had anything like it. I will definitely be purchasing a larger bottle.

If any of you are looking for a cigarette like tobacco juice, check this one out.

Got that one too. It's ok. Make sure you let it steep first before you order a larger bottle.

Tobacco's in general tend to change a fair bit over the first 2-3 weeks.

Here is another place or two for great Tobacco All eLiquid | The Plume Room and Welcome to Ahlusion

This forum is great - a fantastic resource to find out about vendors.

Also - what used to be my favourite juices in the beginning are now neglected bottles in the back of the cupboard.

It's important to try lots of different things in the beginning! Too much fantastic stuff out there.

And if you ever feel like a fruit/dessert vape I highly reccomend you check out these two: www.fanceejuice.com and www.aliceinvapeland.com

Hope that helps!

Thanks. I haven't owned any juice long enough to allow for steeping. How does the flavor change? Does the flavor get stronger, or does it tend to mellow out? I do plan to buy a lot more sample bottles in the near future. I've been thinking of ordering a few more samples from Heather's Heavenly Vapes, along with Alice in Vape Land juices. I think that's what it's called. Does anybody have any recommendations?

I'm like tobacco flavors, but I don't really like strong cigar/pipe tobacco stuff. I prefer a mild cigarette/smokey taste. I've also found that I'm into coffee flavors. But not coffee thats loaded wish sugar and creme. More of a black coffee taste. Maybe my taste buds are just boring. But I just like more subtle flavors that aren't so "in your face" Almost something that you can ignore unless your thinking about it. Tonight I was at work, and I went outside and vaped some dark horse, and I actually forgot that I was vaping. It felt like I was standing there enjoying a cigarette. I was standing there collecting my thoughts about the day, and I was actually tricked by this juice. It wasn't like some of the other juices I've tried, where it's like, STRAWBERRY!!!!!! IN YOUR FACE!!! every time you take a hit. The fruit flavors just seem to be so strong and distracting.

You MUST try https://fanceejuice.com Java Coffee!

I am sure you will be positivly suprised.

also - try the great priced "A little bit of everything" sampler from AiV.
It's only 31$ but you get - well - a little of everyything and its a great introducton to their product!

I tend not to order samplers from the same company twice - too many fantastic vendors out there.

In regards to steeping - just put them in a dark cupboard with the lids of for 3 days shaking often - then lids on for 10 days - shake them whenever you can - and lid open for last day. You will need a steeping cupboard soon! he he he

And I'm the Huntsman fangirl. Can't say enough about it. I'd also suggest a sample of Serendipity. HHV is made to order on bigger bottles, so you may want to let them steep for a couple weeks though Serendipity is fun when you first try it and continues to morph into different flavors including that coffee we both like.

I believe Huntsman was the one suggested to me when I said I liked Dark Horse. Are they similar? Either way, they have both been on my list for big bottle orders. Along with Serenity and Gollum (or whatever it's called now) and those two I'm really excited to try.

I am confused about your recommendation for a juice it seems you haven't tried yet. In another thread you said you hadn't placed your first order yet, and that was a couple days ago. Is the recommendation based on their customer service, or reviews you read?

I have a large circle of "vaping" friends here in Sydney - we all got into vaping at different stages last year and often return from our travels with bottles of juice or order things online. We tend to share what we love.

This particular juice and a few others of the range were gifted to my friend from a christmas visitor from SF.

Only dripped them but it was LOVE at first vape!

Ah, that makes more sense then. I need adventurous vaping friends.

Huntsman is Dark Horse's big brother. Serendipity constantly changes from vanilla caramel to coffee and cocoa. Magic! Gollum reminds me of an English Christmas pudding - rich winter fruits currents sultanas, all I need is brandy!

Funny thing is I was the last one to take it up and the one most obsessed. The others are making fun of me for now even being on the forum! I am such a nerd!

But they won't mind to try the goodies I have coming!

he he he !

Heh, I think anyone who is a regular on here could probably be called a vaping nerd. ;)

Jerms - Huntsman is awesome. I'm vaping it right now. I keep trying to go to sleep, but then a craving for another hit of that flavor creeps up, and I must have more.

Scooper,

The samples shouldn't need steeping, depending on when the large batched was mixed. When you do reorder, you will need to plan for steeping time. With HHV, it pretty much follows this:

48 hours cap and nip off, shake a few times a day when you think about it.
Cap and nip back on, shake well about once a day or whenever you think about it, for a couple of weeks.

Try them out when you want to. Some love them fresh, others need that steep time or more. Be assured they WILL change over time. I go by color mostly. They will deepen in color as they go through their metamorphosis into their magical state.

Darkhorse was my favorite of the HHV tobaccos but still not what I consider to be an analog taste. There is a cigar/pipe tobacco taste going on with her tobacco flavors but darkhorse is the most mild out of those. The closest to analog taste I've had is Freedom from smokeless image and Gamel from Alien Visions. They are very mild. I don't think I'd use them for all day vapes though. My favorite all day vapes are probably 555 and Oompa from HHV. I like the tobacco with a hint of something else. It's good darkhorse has worked out for you. It does taste better than some generic analog for sure.

The HHV tobaccos are naturally extracted tobaccos (NETs) and they have a more pungent cigar or pipe tobacco blend. They also generally need to go through a steeping process described by Robin above.

Mac, Tobacco absolute (TA) is the most common additive to many vendors' tobaccos (eg: the "knock off" names that sound like the brands you used to smoke) so it sounds like you prefer TA. Nothing wrong with that either. Want2Vape is another NET vendor, but you may like their Morley which to me is a very good cigarette tobacco type juice. Otherwise ECBlends and other vendors may be your preferred port of call. It's all good if it stops your smoking. Btw - did you try Huntsman from HHV (Dark Horse's big brother)?

As far as steeping, it depends what the juice is. Leaving the caps off for a few days evaporates whatever alcohol(s) might be in the flavorings. Letting them sit for a few days or weeks lets the flavors blend and meld. If you like to cook, or are much of a foodie, then you know food with sauces, chili, stews etc tend to taste better after sitting in a fridge or even freezing for a few days.

mostly though, i find steeping mostly brings out the more subtle flavors in a new juice. Kind of like letting a wine breathe. The flavors are "tight" initially, hard to discern individual flavors but breathing/steeping lets some of these notes come to the front, so to speak.
