Hello all! After about 17 years of smoking, I bought my first e-cig about a week ago (the general 510 model) and at first I wasn't very impressed. I had no idea that there was so much to take into consideration- liquids, flavors, PG/VG, atomizers, cartomizers -and so when my starter kit arrived with a tobacco-flavored PG/VG mix at 11mg nic, I thought that was all I could ever get. And I didn't like it. After 2 puffs, I had a sore throat like I'd smoked 4 packs, I had body aches, a head aches and felt kind of nauseous. That's what got me to do a little research. I ordered samples of 2 VG-only & 1 low-PG from ECBlends in sweet flavors and decided in that first day that while the low-PG tasted better, my body clearly doesn't tolerate it well, but the VG only seems to agree with me just fine! Now I'm attempting to steep those 2 juices to see how much better they get. In the mean time, I have orders in with Velvet Vapors & another with Virgin Vapors. But that's not the exciting news.

I figured it would still take me some time to stop smoking, so I've been trying to vape every other time I'd normally smoke. I liked it, but I've missed the "chest hit." Last night, after 2 days of vaping (after the PG issues), I ran out of cigarettes & today 2 different stores were out of my brand (not an uncommon occurrence), so I was relying solely on my PV all day. This evening, I was out in the suburbs & saw my brand of cigarettes when i stopped for gas, so I grabbed 2 packs (as is my habit) and lit one in the car. Wow. I felt like I'd been punched in the chest! I smoke ultra-lights and it felt like I'd torn the filters off of a full-flavor cigarette! After 3 puffs, I chucked it out the window, the cigarettes are currently living in a ziploc baggie in my freezer to be donated to a friend.

I have to be honest, I didn't think I'd be done with analogs until I found a favorite flavor of juice and I definitely thought it would be more than 3 days!!! I'm so impressed that I just ordered a PV & some juice samples to give to my best friend for her birthday, I don't know what could be a higher complement.

Thanks to everyone here for being a wealth of information & giving me somewhere to say things like "Holy crap! I think I just smoked my last cigarette!"

Stick with it. If you fall off the wagon, trying weening down, start replacing smoke breaks with vape breaks until your on 1 or 2 a day then quit. I started on 11 mg but it took 24 mg to finally quit. On 24 quitting was almost painless. Now im using 18 with some 24 stash when i need a boost.

I actually seem to be doing better with 6mg than I did with the 11mg- granted, I'm vaping more than I smoked, but there's also the novelty of it all, the taste & the part where I can vape indoors!

good for you! Since you have the standard 510 and you know you like vaping if you ever need more battery or a stronger hit check out the k go and some low resistance atomizers and cartomizers. It packs more of a punch and the batteries last all day.

I had a standard 510 kit and it is a pretty decent Vape though. Did you get a manual or auto battery?

After doing some reading here & seeing what most vendors carry, I feel like I lucked out with the model (I got it on a Groupon with absolutely no research done.) It's especially nice that so many juice vendors seem to carry parts for the 510, so you can order cartomizers with your juice order. I have an auto battery, but when I looked to get one for my best friend's birthday, I found a good deal on a manual kit (which seems to be the preferred option), so I ordered myself one, too- I mean, when would it ever hurt to have extra parts?

Fantastic Sydlie!

It's good to read the same enthusiasm I feel. Started with a PV (Innikon Lea, similar in some ways to a 510 I think) just a couple of days ago. It's going great. I haven't had an analog cig for almost 48 hours now - which is the longest I've lived without one for 22 years! And it doesn't feel wrong or difficult - just a bit strange.
Stick with it, hope it goes well!:toast:

Congratulations! What juices are you using? I can suggest some yummy ones! I really like Vanilla Strait, Renegade, and Bounty Hunter, all from Nite Lite. https://www.nitelitevapor.us/shop/catalog/browse?shop_param=

It looks like Nite Lite doesn't carry any VG-only liquids & I've had a hard time with PG, even if it was just PG flavor. Currently, I'm vaping Pomegranate by ECBlends, I also have their Cherry with extra flavor, but I'm not as thrilled about it. I should be getting a 5-bottle sample pack in from Velvet Vapors today (assuming the mailman comes through) with Raspberry, Mango, Butterscotch, Root Beer Float & Chocolate Caramel-- I'm really excited about it! And I just placed an order with Virgin Vapors, too. Something about getting dessert-taste with my nicotine is really appealing to me!

I'm in the process of switching too. Just trying to figure out what to get as far as a battery goes. I, too am overwhelmed by the options.

Just a short few months back, I was right there with you, SunnyMoon! Suggestion...a 510 battery (I have a Joye eGo) that has 280 mah power. They last longer than the smaller 510 180 mah batteries. Grab some cartomizers for it, and enjoy!

My vendors: vapininthecape.com (great color selection for 510 batteries!) , litecigusa.net (the cartomizers, but they have 510 batteries, too!) and there are SO many juice vendors, I don't know what to tell you on the juice. I love VaporBomb, but there are a lot of other ones out there that get a lot of great reviews!
