Another noob on information overload. I'm sure my question has been asked and answered a million times here, but I'm having trouble finding it.

Right now I'm using an njoy NPro that I got on impulse at a mini-mart. I love it and haven't had an analog since, but after ordering some refill cartridges, I realized that it's going to get more expensive than I would like, so I've decided to upgrade to an eGo-T pretty soon.

My problem is that I'm overwhelmed by the types of liquid. I was a pretty light smoker (maybe 1/2 a pack of lights a day) and I like njoy's traditional flavor, regular nicotine level cartridges. I don't know where to order; whether to get VG, PG or a mix; what flavor (there seem to be 1001 different "plain tobacco" flavors) and what strength.

If anyone could help me I would appreciate it. Also, if anyone thinks that my choice of new PV might be wrong for me, please chime in.

Thanks!

I find cartos work well the longest with thin clear liquids. so high PG liquids and I prefers clear ones that leave no flavor sediment. I use juices with 20% or less VG. However, you have auto batteries you so have to be very careful that the carto is not going to drip any juice before you put it back on the battery. Auto batteries are totally dependent on a tiny physical drag sensor right inside the hole in the middle of the threaded end of your battery. A manual RN4081 battery from AZSmokeFree would be much safer from damage by leaks and also make it easier to get a good hit. Your Npro (aka Njoy 2-n-1 in 7-11) is an RN4081.

Flavors are personal choice and preference. Name brands do not disclose where they get their juices in their prefilled cartos, It is usually Chinese PG juice. Did you look at the Njoy site to see if they happen to sell the juice?

I use a different 2-piece model that sells the juices as well as the prefilled and blank cartos (KR808D-1 from Vapor4Life)

If you want to see if they might be using Dekang Chinese liquid try
Dekang Tobacco

And one or both Dekang USA-Mix ones

I think the eGo-T (my planned upgrade) has a manual battery and a tank. If this be the case, is the PG/VG ratio important?

Scary. Njoy doesn't sell juice.

I should mention that I don't care that much that it taste like an analog (what I'm using really doesn't - I think I like that it's not overpowering) and that I am concerned about the ingredients in flavors. I would like my nic fix to be as innocuous as possible.

Try Juices from Johnson Creek-- made in WI -- the chocolate truffle was my first try from them and it beat --literally--35 different flavors in carts I had and I now vape it 24/7. Great QC --more expensive but no mystery chinese crap. Their sampler is like $21 for 10 flavors. Haven't tried that yet cause Ctruffle is so good! If you're concerned about ingred. try johnson creek!

I'd suggest ordering from vendors that specialize is liquid. As you are concerned about the flavorings, don't order extra flavor, and order some unflavored pg or vg (or blend of the two) at your desired nicotine level to thin the flavor further. I personally believe that pg is better understood as safe, but that's just my opinion. Unflavored can be vaped as well... or buy some flavorings and control the level of flavoring yourself.
Another way to minimize flavoring inhalation is to train yourself to inhale the vapor just into your mouth and exhale out the nose without drawing it into your lungs. It takes some practice, but it can be done. The nicotine is still absorbed with this method, but probably not as efficiently as through the lungs, so you may need to up the nicotine level.

I would recommend getting some Boge 2.0 cartomizers with your tank kit just in case the tank doesn't work out for you. Many people have had issues with it and if you do you can just use the cartomizers or if the tank works for out you can use the cartos as a back up.

As for juice in the tank system you'll want to use juices with a higher mixture of PG. 80%PG 20%VG is a popular mixture but you can go slightly higher in the VG if you want. I would keep it at least 50/50 with the tank. Lite colored juices also work better in the tank and in general, they don't seem to gunk the atomizer up as quick which means more vape time and less cleaning time.

As for a specific juice that's a tuff one. Get small samples of many flavors until you find one or a few you like then you can order larger bottles. Many places offer smaller sampler size bottles such as freedomsmokeusa mentioned above. They also have a very large selection. If you do go with FSUSA try the Purecig, it's a good tobacco flavor that is lite in color. They also carry Wyatt Earp mentioned above, it's actually my favorite juice but taste nothing like a cigarette, it's more cigarish and I wouldn't recommend using it in the tank as it's a darker color, I have to clean more often when I use it but I love it. Using it in the boge 2.0 cartomizers would be ok.

So, I think I will get some unflavored PG/VG 80/20 mix from FSUSA and and maybe a little flavor and a cartomizer. If I like flavored, I'm going to try some of that chocolate from JC.

I'm bummed about the problems with the tanks and am going to re-think them now.

Thanks so very much for the thoughtful responses. I've gone from confused to excited.

Any suggestions as to what nicotine level I should go with? They offer 6-30 mg. The cartridges I'm using now just say "1.8% nicotine by volume." I'm thinking of going with something on the low end so that I can vape more.

Get a bottle of PG to go with some high nicotine unflavored and you can adjust the level yourself fairly easily and very cheaply. I vary mine wildly according to mood from 6mg to about 20mg. Get some bottles and maybe a syringe or pipettes too, and you're ready for a little DIY :)
There are vendors that specialize in DIY as well as a subforum DIY e-liquid Be sure to read warnings about the strongest liquids (100mg/ml) if you buy some.
I'm used to dealing with FSUSA and I trust their quality control, so I buy all my liquids there. There may be a sale at one of the other shops (look here at the coupon list at the top: E Cigarette Suppliers Forum), so cheaper options may exist. If you choose to use FSUSA, feel free to email them; they will help with any questions you have.

Or just keep asking in here. We will also help :)

The eGo-t. Can potentially give you the most frustrating vaping experience of your life. The attys suck, the tanks too, they keep failing on you until they die. It's a royal mess. Luckily there are awesome stuff that you can get for these long lasting batteries, so that makes it worth it. I bought a set of 5 cartos from a member here called Bill (think his thread is called D & B has Echo cartos). They are amazing hold 2.5ml of juice. Clear flavor, and lasts weeks and week! Cheap too! I vape alllll day on them worry free!
There is also a new thank in town called the saphire- I think from vaporage? Looks very very nice! It's a tank-omizer. Aside from that.... If you buy the eGo-T, just make sure you have a back up plan so you don't feel like tossing this thing out of the window! Good luck!!!

I have been fortunate to try several good liquids. For tobacco flavor I like Halo Freedom Juice and Prime 16, Johnson Creek Original or Tennessee Cured, and Innovapor Regular. I will say when I first tried Johnson Creek I HATED it with a passion. To me it tasted liked burned rubber bands with a little flavor. However being too cheap to give up on it I tried and tried again. It has really grown on me now. I don't really know if I developed a taste or if it had to steep to develop the flavor but it is really good now and I don't get that nasty taste at all; I am ordering more of the original. Best bet in my opinion is order the samplers from a few different vendors and see what you like AND don't rely on first impressions as juices really change over the first week or so!

I agree with post 10 about the ego-t and tanks in general, I was not impressed at all with the tank but everyone is different. An atty or cartomizer on a bigger battery (Riva 1100) works really well for me, no muss no fuss.

Happy hunting!

Anima...a good setup that will provide you with good vapor, flavor, and TH is the riva or ego lite bundle from liberty-flights.com. Now put a Boge cartomizer (sold in a box of 5) on it with a drip tip and you'll experience vaping heaven.

The tank system works for some people but not for everyone. I bought it out of curiosity and hated it. Not that I was having any problems with it but because it muted my flavors. I didn't keep it long enough to experience problems that others had. But hey, if that's what you want, at least get some regular atomizers and Boge cartomizers to go with it in the event you don't like it either. I'm not bashing the system as it has worked for some folks and that's what counts....to stay off stinkies.

For sampler so juices...check out these vendors. I'm sure I've missed some so if anyone knows of more please let me know so I can update. Thanks cleolove from another thread for helping me and a newbie out.

1.8 % is the same as 18 mg.
If your happy, stick with that to start (16-18 mg there abouts).
Some people will advise starting as 24mg then work down.

You've changed my mind again! So, I'm going to go with the Riva 510 carto deluxe starter kit. It comes with cartomizers, but I figure I'll just get the Boge ones when those fail.

I feel pretty good about this.
