So i went to do my weekly battery cleaning. I stand all my batteries up in a little container of rubbing alcohol just over the threads and let them sit a minute or 2 as always. But my phone rang. I got sidetracked. About an hour later I see them all sitting in the alcohol yet. Tried blowing them out and everything but not a one of them will activate now(all shorty autos). I killed them all didn't I? Any suggestions on bringing them back from the dead? I got one regular length manual left until an order can arrive at my house.

MaryKay, I blame it on my OCD. LOL Riding in my pocket at work, a little leftover juice from a quick refill, who knows. But I always use rubbing alcohol for cleaning things, always have. I figure a little soak to loosen anything that might be there and then a quick once over with a toothbrush and they're as clean as new. Just this time I got a bit sidetracked unfortunately.

Wisteeler...I cant remember if it was you that recommended soaking my auto when I was having problems or not ... but it brought it back to its original performance....not sure why but it seemed to work for my problem. I didn't really see any gunk or anything but I let mine soak for a couple hours...as long as you don't flood the insides I don't see how it could hurt them (other than the temporary problem Adrenalynn mentioned) Might want to just limit that level of cleaning to when there is a performance problem though ...I found a simple wipe every carto change goes a long way (with a wipe with alcohol if i see visible dirt ) .....Hope they turn out to be ok but don't see how it could have caused permanent failure.

Well this morning, all but one of the batteries came back to life. And the one that didn't was one i had been experimenting with anyway trying to see what effect different size airholes would have. I'm kinda guessing that may have had some effect on that ones death. But at least I have enough batteries now to last me until the new ones I ordered come in. Damn OCD. probably nothing wrong with these ones now but in my head I'll keep worrying the decide to not work while I'm at work. LOL
