So, I now have a sizeable collection of mods, batteries, clearos, RBAs, RDAs and whatnot. And of course, I have a lot of liquids of different kinds too. But for some reason, I keep gravitating back to fixed voltage cheap eGo batteries and cheap Evod and iClear 30 clearos because, well, the more expensive stuff just don't seem to work much better for me.

For some very thick juices, some of the equipment I have works better than ordinary stuff, to avoid dry hits. Other than that, eGos and cheap-... clearos are mighty fine. So much so that I keep buying more to sprinkle them all over the place, which just seems easier than carrying a single mod with me and caring for it.

I have an eVic at home. I like it in a geeky sort of way. But to be honest, it's much faffing about for no real advantage.

A friend of mine lent me his Provari. Meh... What it's got over a $10 battery - aside from machining and finish quality obviously - I'll never know. To each his own, but at that price, I can have 15 disposable batteries that seem to vape just as well, for a given topper.

One of my colleagues at work keeps complaining about burnt taste with this-or-that atomizer, keeps changing atties or switching clearos. But whenever I try his setup, the vape tastes perfectly fine to me.

I've tried all manners of coils and wicks on my AGA-T. Yeah, it's fun and everything, but, well... it vapes, at the end of the day.

The bottom feeder I've recently bought... Yep, that definitely does it for tricky juices that don't want to wick up ordinary clearos. With other juices though, it's just extra work for no benefit.

So it seems I'm not "getting it". Is there something wrong with me? I feel as if I'm unable to experienced the difference in vape quality that other vapers seem to rave about with more expensive or exotic equipment. I'm perfectly happy with the stuff I use - and in fact, probably happier with the cheaper stuff I use - but every advanced vaper I know in my area seems to think I'm missing out on some magical vaping experience that's above and beyond what I know and enjoy already.

I'm supremely satisfied with my Evods, mini PT 2's and my one MVP2. I've enjoyed try ing my grandson's and his friend's big mods and drip tips. In fact, a juice I didn't care for tasted really good in one of them, so I gave him the bottle. I just don't want anything I would have to fiddle with, at least for now.

I can see some advantages to the cheap stuff. Don't get me wrong I love my provari, mech and MVP but as others have said if you're happy be content. Plus if you drop an ego battery on the pavement you might be annoyed but easily replaced cheaply. If I dropped my provari I'd be livid. Even though I'm sure it'd still work the scratches alone would erk me. Plus as you said you can have a solid dozen laying around for the same price of the initial setup. The size is also a perk. If you're not into tinkering and just want a vape I think you've got it right.

If so, I'm happily a few bricks short of a load as well.

Folks rave about their Vamvaris and their Reotubes and whatnot. :) While I own a VAMO, I tend to return to my nice, simple 1,300 mAh automatic. When I'm feeling daring, I use my Spinner.

You know what? They give a good vape, they're simple, there's nothing fiddly about them. I appreciate that.

Plenty of us appreciate that, in fact.

I understand how you feel. Whatever works is the best set up. I have an MVP2 which I love but I'm going out tonight and I am going to bring my ego with me. I want something smaller. Granted I am going out to but a new topper for it because I have found that I like pyrex better than plastic. Don't let anyone ever tell you it's the wrong set up. I read about the provaris and would like one someday but I am in no hurry and don't have the money for it. I am going to get another MVP2 because I like a back up. Keep vaping.

I have acquired many things myself. I use a Vamo and really the only difference between it and the ego batteries is the battery life (because I use a 2000mah 18650 in it) and the fact that I can use watts instead of volts, which I like. My egos were fine, they just died on me a lot. My boyfriend still uses them though, with his cheap plastic tank, and his cheap juice. That is what he likes. lol. He says all my stuff tastes burnt. He hates almost all my "flavorless" gourmet juices, my pyrex tanks, and doesn't like the Vamo since you really can't put it in your pocket because it is too large.

Like EleanorR said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I am over a year into "it" and I still prefer EVODs over anything else. I have an MVP2 and love it, but nothing beats my trusty Itaste vv/vws for size and and style. I love pretty things, so I am waiting for my new 1300 mah Spinner and Twist. I have been "shamed" by some for my lack of adventure, but every dang time I try to go bigger and more complicated, I wind up frustrated. I have decided I am too old to be frustrated, so back to EVOD...

I have tried the Pvari, but I think it is kind of ugly and heavy. I don't want external batteries--more things to keep track of--and I do not care anymore. I don't smoke and that is the important thing. To each her own...

PS. There is NOTHING wrong with the Pvari. It is wonderful, etc., etc. Just not for me at this point in time.

PS2. I could not care LESS about rebuilding anything, either.:D

I personally love the ego's and the mvp, no extra batteries to buy, I love my cheep clearomizers I buy. CE4's can be cleaned and used untill they fire no more :) I have one kind of expensive (for me anyway, I'm cheep) protank mini and I only paid 11.00 for it. I started vaping on the idea of two things, To quit smoking and to save money. And I succeeded in both :)

I always buy extra cleoromizers on every juice order, just to have back ups...

ps. I do oogle over all the purdy devises though

I wish I could be you lol. I started off with the 510 and direct drip atomizer then ego and cartos then ego and clearos then evods/protanks and now am evic with protanks and shortly going to be buying a kfl+ for my evic. I am always looking for the right vape and still haven't quite found it. My husband though sticks with an eroll with his same flavor and doesn't need/want anything bigger or better or different it's perfect for him. I think it's awesome that they work so great for you like everyone else said if it's not broke no need to fix it.

If you are vaping solely, and only, as a very pleasant alternative to smoking cigarettes, you can definitely "do it on the cheap." That's wonderful, I think, because that suits a whole bunch of people. Like me, for instance.:)

If you get into the "hobby" aspect of it, the sky's the limit! At least that's what I find when I read lots of the posts here. And that is okay, too! Hobbies are usually lots of fun, and sometimes a hobby can cost a lot!

We have all kinds of folks here, from the "on the cheap" bunch to "the sky's the limit" bunch, and lots of others in between.

That's the best thing about vaping - there is something for everyone.:)
