I am officially obsessed with vaping. The only shopping I want to do is for more vape gear, and Christmas is approaching. I have filled a cart and created wish lists all over the web, but I haven't been able to pull the trigger on any of it. It's killing me.

After it was apparent that hubby and I were going to stick with this and stop smoking, I bought myself an iTaste VV v3 and a Mini Protank II. The starter sets we each started on were these cheap VV, 650 mAh batteries and no name bottom coil clearos. Only came with one battery each, so I was able to justify the iTaste and Protank as needing back ups. Hubby told me to just buy him the same, cheap, starter kit for his backup. Of course, the more he used them the more issues he had, so he stole my iTaste set up. Told me it was better off this way, because he wasn't any good at troubleshooting anything when something went wrong. He would go bum a cigarette if he couldn't make it work. Therefore, I had a reason to go shopping again. The first starter set paled in comparison to the iTaste, and I just couldn't go back to it unless I absolutely had to.

I just got my new MVP 2 a couple of days ago, and I love it just as much as my iTaste VV v3. Also went ahead and bought another Mini Protank II since I think it's always a good idea to have a glass tank or clearo around that you can put any juice in. The iClear 30 the MVP came with I also like. Thing is, I like it all just the same as I liked the VV v3. It hits pretty much the same, which is exactly what it should do of course. It also has the added benefit of not running out of a charge too quickly, and it can charge my phone. All well and good. Probably one of the best bang for your buck deals out there at $40, but I feel like I'm missing something.

The MVP 2 just doesn't seem like an upgrade to me. At least, not in performance when compared to the VV v3. Even my vape gear thieving husband hasn't been sneaking hits off it or tried to pocket it for himself. He has apparently found his vape nirvana with the VV v3. The VW function was exactly what he needed. No need to worry about ohms and volts. It'll adjust itself if he changes the coils. The Mini Protank doesn't gurgle when he vapes it down to a drop, and the bottom coil design paired with the metal drip tip gives him the cool vape he prefers. He's perfectly happy now, and I'm stuck without a reason to buy something new. Arrgh!! I can't wait for tax return this year. I think my vape nirvana is in the actual hunt for stuff. So much for this being cheaper then smoking.

I hear you! Everything on my Christmas list is vape related lol. An iclear30s, 30s coils, protank2, vision victory 5ml bcc, evod heads and a vv v3 as well. Glad to hear you like the v3. I also have an MVP and love it! It was the best $40 I've spent on vaping to date.
I am a member of several Jeep forums and a few gun forums as well as a droid forum but find myself on this forum all of the time lately! I love it and I feel so much better too!

We've all been there Tinkie. You probably do need to get at least a couple more mods. You need backups for your backups. After a while though the desire to buy every new shiny vape you see kinda goes away. After a while you look at a new mod on the market and go "oh, it's just another take on the lavatube" (, or provari ripoff or whatever). Once you find the vape that really works for you, the purchasing really drops off. At least until you start the hunt or the perfect juice. I'm kinda there with a Reo/RM2 and DIY juice.

If you like to tinker get some kanthal and build some coils for the protank kanthal is cheap and when you start to blow massive clouds you will be amazed that the little protank can do it I am building coils for mine as with Christmas I can't spend on vaping gear but coil building is fun and stops you looking at shiny new gear that you probably don't need any way

I do mine with the gas stove it gets it hot enough to set the coil you don't really need the blow torch if you have no stove just wrap your as close as you can and use a lighter it will work just fine I have made loads of coils without a blow torch squeeze it up with a pair of tweezers once you have done a few it will become very easy and you will love the vape it gives try it the heads you buy you will strip and build again because they will be like junk when you have had a custom coil

You need a blow torch to make coils, don't you? I have an ohm meter in both the MVP 2 and the VV v3. Was thinking about at least trying to rewick a couple of Protank heads with cotton.
Not necessarily. Torching does help with the lower gauge wires before you wrap to make it more malleable, but isn't really necessary. As far as burning off any gunk and being able to squeeze the wraps together you can do that by dry firing it before you put the wick in.

not with pro tank heads the coil is in a cup maybe on an rda but you won't get the tweezers in the cup no room in there you might be able to push them through the side of the cup but could upset the placement to much and ruin your work

Nah. I wrap the coils, put them in the head, and then attach the head to my PV and burn, use a pair of tweezers to squeeze the coils together on the cool down. Works fine. No need for a torch. For me wrapping the coil is easy. It's threading the cotton so that it is just right that drives me crazy.
