im a 56 yr old wife and mom. been vaping for a couple of years now . started with cleros and ego batteries. I now use a fu hatthan and a dna 30 clone. build my own coils . I was using mostly my kayfun or orchid clones with 1.2 nic at 60vg /40 pg. . but now im trying to get into drippers went to my local b&m store and got a mutation x I assume its a clone it cost me 27.00 . well I think im loving it . except the only juice I have on hand is the same 60/40 ratio but I got .9 nic. and it seems very strong. and not a lot of clouds. wish I can get straight answers on what my nic and ratio would be good for this dripper. im also loving the tug boat dripper it come in such pretty colors. thanks for any help. which juice do u all recommend

Whatever you usually use for nic ratio, drop it a little with a MutationX if you normally vape 12 I would look at 6. As for the clouds that is going to depend a lot on what build you have in it and the juice. 60/40 I am assuming pg/vg will be decent but if you're wanting to cloud chase about 70/30 VG/PG you will start to notice a lot of vapor increase.

Yeah, try a mix with more vg. Will be less harsh and more vapor.

You'll get 'er dialed in. ;)

I agree, you'll get it done. Drippers are a slightly different beast than a tank. In my experience, the coils like being very close to the air intake, and less wick is typically more; if it's just enough to drape onto the deck, it's generally the perfect amount. Too much wick, or coils too far from the air, and the lack of airflow will make everything harsher than it needs to be.

Second on upping the VG ratio to at least 50/50, if not 70% VG (which I typically use). I might try that before lowering the nic, but I like a lot of nicotine, personally.

ETA: Welcome to ECF, also! Don't worry, I'm always being schooled by someone that knows more than me :p

As mentioned, up the VG for more vapor and a mellower vape. For a dripper you'll generally want 50/50 at a minimum, and 60-70% is often preferred. Depending on where you're getting your eliquid, at 70% it may taste more muted if it wasn't designed for that amount of VG but you'll get your clouds.

As also mentioned to back them up, halve to third your normal nicotine when dripping if you'll be chain vaping quite a bit, or you'll not feel so great. You might do 12mg in a tank, and 6mg might be fine in a dripper. But if you end up chain-vaping, you might find you'd be happiest with 3mg. The hit can just be that much more intense.

One last also; as a reminder, everyone is a newb at everything at some point, and there's no shame in it. :) Now, being from NJ on the other hand...

Basically, PG= Throat hit/Flavor enhancer, VG = Clouds + More nicotine also means more TH --- travel to a 6 Mg Nicotine, 20/80 mix then add 30% flavor, should be a pretty good vape at that point, if not keep raising VG and lessen the PG, some prefer full VG, I'm just not that kind junks up attys so fast and I don't like to spend all day dunking the things in PGA. Not to mention having to keep a bunch of tanks laying around. . . oh. . .wait. . .too late for that one. . .LOL

Hi and welcome to ECF!

Lots of good advice above. I don't have anything to add. Drippers and tanks are, indeed, different beasts.

You'll get the hang of it soon. just keep experimenting. Take mental notes (or note things down) about what things you do seem to make a difference and whether that difference is better or worse.

Hope that helps and Happy Vaping!

Hi, Bklyncat, welcome to ECF!

Why not get some VG (from the drugstore or walmart) and add a bit to your liquid? This would solve 2 problems; it would give you higher VG (for more clouds) and also cut down your 9 mg (which is pretty high for a dripper).

The extra VG will mute the flavor some but it sounds like the flavor's too strong at the moment, so that might also be a plus.
