..I saw this forum. I've been vaping for almost a year now not knowing anything outside of ego twists and those njoy things at the gas station.

I've been an on off analog smoker for 8 years now and only smoked to pass time, like at work, or if i'm trying to think, or was just really bored. I'm not gonna lie, I just thought the smoke was cool and I would just do "tricks" with it. I was an ignorant teenager once and not really took anything else into consideration. It was bad enough that i had asthma as a child. But oh well, I figured back then that i was only blowing smoke and not doing deep inhales.

Fast forward to recent years, I started to look into really quitting, and finding an alternative to cure my boredom during downtime at work since mobile phone games and podcasts can only go so far and also having to wash my hands constantly because I can't stand cigarette smell on my clothing and for the now obvious health reasons. lol

I've been vaping on an ego twist ever since, stock clearos, and constantly having to replace them because they're not durable enough for me apparently. The clear part always ends up skewed or the drip tip thread gets pulled out, flooding, and all of that mess. Couple months back I wouldn't have even known of these terms.

I only learned of the online presence and active community of ECF after having visited a new B&M to purchase juice. That was my only on real reason on going there until I thought of asking, the clerk, about the issues that I've been dealing with my old clearos. He then recommended the Kanger Protank-II but wanted to make sure i had a mod that supported it. It was like crickets.. I didn't know what he was asking. Being that my other hobby is automotive tuning, In my head I was picturing car mods/modifications (suspension/forced induction/ rebuilding motors???). Until the clerk mentioned the most common starter kit, the ego twist. Finally understanding what he was talking about, I nodded sheepishly and ended up talking about mods and all of that. After that enlightening experience at the B&M, I went to the google machine and started looking up mod reviews.. whadya know. ECF immediately popped up. haha

I went to perusing the threads and slowly started soaking everything in. Like a newly wicked coil getting all that juice. My mind was blown. A couple of days lurking, and I've already learned so much.. from ohm's law.. to sub-ohm.. batteries.. rewicking with cotton.. silica.. kanthal.. damn.. I already ordered some rewicking supplies and now looking into modding some U-Cans and some battery holders from Radioshack.

Since I'm mostly in front of a computer at work, you could say I have the luxury of browsing forums during down time. So i registered. Not even a couple of hours of registering, I got banned for having multiple identities.. I doubted myself for a sec since I have a habbit of registering user names on forums/social platforms in advance that I may end up using. Keep the social media identity consistent and stuff. After re-registering.. getting banned again.. submitting a ticket.. I eventually got a hold of Neil on the ECF page on Facebook. Told him what was going on.. and he fixed it right away. Here I am. Awesome. I can click on the "like" button on posts since there's not much i can contribute yet since I'm still learning. Funny thing is, I try to avoid electrical related issues with my cars and almost all the time just send it over to a real mechanic.. but after having read stuff on ECF.. voltage.. resistance.. wattage don't seem too foreign to me now. haha

Please excuse the cruddy photos of my current setup.

The photo that has everything lined up.. is when i started learning how to clean my Protank.
Kinda went trigger happy on the dry firing.. and ended up singeing my wick.
Figured that since I didn't have any supplies to rewick.. I'd give cotton a shot.. and reusing my coil. It was a challenge but doable. No photos of that endeavor though.
Retained 1.8 Ohms while getting a ton more vapor and flavor.

TL;DR
Hi, I'm new, still learning, and a new member of CASAA. Happy world Vape day!

Welcome to ECF, and I sympathize with your story. What you need to do is get that Protank, and then get a mech. You will love it. Of course you will burn through coils fast a furious, and come to the conclusion that it's time to get an RBA. You should do this.

You MUST DO THIS!

Repeat after me, "mech, RBA, mech, RBA, MECH, RBA....MECH RBA!!! MECH RBA!!!!"

It's all part of my fiendish plan, heheheheeheeheheheheheeeeeeee!

Must have been pretty eye opening to find this place, and realize that the world of vaping is ... just HUGE in terms of devices and whatnots. I've been vaping a long time and I'm still amazed at how far it's come, and excited (and nervous) to see where it goes from here. Of all the advances and innovations that have sprouted up in my lifetime, vaping just seems miraculous to me, but also seems like it should have always been there, too.

Congrats, good luck in your vaping experience, see you around this labyrinthine forum, I'm sure.

EDIT: Vaslovik is not lieing, by the way. Try out the RDA/RBA side of vaping. It's the only way to vape, as far as I'm concerned.

Welcome to ECF, glad you found us!

Best of luck!

My sentiments as well! I'm glad i found this treasure trove of a forum. And thanks!

Awesome post, very interesting to read your story

Thanks for reading it! I tend to just ramble on forums and I have a bit of a difficult time summarizing. haha

Hello and Welcome
You will find a wealth of info here from friendly people, Youtube is also a great source to learn from. So browse the forums watch some vids and don't hesitate to ask questions You may have

I definitely agree! It was meant to be as i always found myself in the same forum when searching for information. I love learning new things, dismantling stuff, and hopefully putting them back together.

Haha I can't even begin to start… where i want to start! All this new information that I've been soaking in has made me rethink plans of plans of plans. If you know what i mean. First i plan on doing a micro coil on the pro tank. Just because. The only thing downside to dripping, personally, would be my messy self. I'm gonna end up with juice everywhere.

Welcome! Im realy new to vaping myself..i also love automotive work. Many, many many, helpful people here.

Awesome! I honestly did not know anything about cars until as a broke college kid, a car i purchased, and still own, started doing a no start issue. Specially coming from a hot start. Come to find out the head was cracked. Paying for a mechanic to work on an older european car, one can easily see the dollar signs on most mechanics eyes,so I read up and did it myself. I still have the car and it's been my daily since.

Eye opening to put it mildly! I had my jaw on my desk and was nodding like a bobble head while reading through discussions. I definitely agree with vaping being something that should've been readily available from the get go. Thanks! I'll probably be online most of the time. Except when I'm under one of my cars, video games, and I guess sleep. I have a pretty boring life. haha

 Welcome to the forum. May your vape be strong.

Thanks! That is actually the plan, strong vapor and flavor! I dunno about TH though. I'd rather not have something strong so I could vape all day.

If there's anyone who can "flatten out the steep learning curve" it is the very friendly and informative regulars in this community. They are incredible resources never hesitate to offer good, honest and well-considered advice and information.

Welcome!

I've already learned so much, but i honestly feel like I'm still at the tip of the iceberg. Viewing the forum from a guest standpoint was very.. inviting really. One could easily see how awesome this community is. I'm glad to be here.

Welcome! Great story!

Thanks! I look forward to reporting much more contributing ones next time.

Tinkering? Modding? To infinity and beyond!
