But I think I failed. I used to be friends with this dude from work but he turned into a mime and a self centered douche. But I felt bad for him because he was still smoking.

So I offered to help him and we go to lunch today to the vape shop and what does he do? He gets a kanger for his girlfriend who apparently smokes one cigarette a day as opposed to him pack a day. I should probably mention that he always complained about his gf being a totally unappreciative b..... and never having anything in common with her. He wants to dump her but I think he's whipped.

Can somebody explain to me what sense does that make?

What? Lol I was just quoting him lol

It was Ron White. I thought you were just making a joke about the stupid thing! LOL!

Ahhh... irony! LOL! Sorry.

It's cool though, I know what you mean. It's because I've ran into a few of these while I was try to "help" people out that I just stopped trying.

Just read the bold parts as one sentence and just don't do it again.

OP, two things... One, often when someone is frustrated with a partner they vent to friends. That is not always indicitive of the whole of the relationship.

Two, maybe despite your effort he is simply not ready to start vaping but thought his GF is. Maybe he will try out hers before he is ready to buy his own.

I do not really see anything to be annoyed or disappointed about.

I'm persistent as hell and I love helping others. That's why I bypassed the past.
So I IM him and I'm like you going for a smoke he's like yes so I'm like let's go. I take my 12mg sapphire juice. We go to his car he lights it up the moment we get outside. 3rd drag I'm like toss it. He does. I fill up his kanger like a quarter. I'm like vape this. He starts vaping and seems to like it. So I think he sees the light.

I kept telling him about all the advantages he says dude you don't have to convince me. We'll see.

I think there's a possibility that he bought it for "her", but it's really for him. Over my years i've come to learn that "douches" will go about things this way. If he tries and fails, he feels he'll have to own up to that...if he tries in secret and it fails nobody needs to know, but if it works he wins and will let everybody know about it
