I'm lookin at building a box mod.. Mainly because I think they look good, I like the idea of a big battery and big juice supply. I also need something to do in my spare time after the school semester is over..

I'm not an engineer... I'm not an electrician... I need a "do this to achieve this" solution to this sort of thing, not looking at experimenting and redesigning what others have done... Mainly looking for an idea on how to accomplish a simple juice box...

What I want: capacity for an 18650 battery, 510 atomizer threading, 3ml-5ml bottle capacity (doesn't matter which), an on/off switch, and an activation button. LED is not necessary, but prefered.

What materials do I need (besides atomizer and battery) do I need to accomplish this? And where do I get them? I would prefer a one stop shop experience for this, but if it isn't possible that is okay too.

Also, if there is any basics I need to know about, please let me know. I know I will (probably?) need a soldering iron (I happen to have an ancient one somewhere), and I think most people seem to use epoxy, which I can get. Soooo yeah, what materials, where, and any basics I need to know, please.

Thanks!!

The box you have many options here but here is a link to a box i think would work nicely
2 x C Battery Box with on/off switch.

You can get just about all your suplies at mad vapes minus the copper and plastic tube.
Here is a link to the plastic tubing
Watts RVDC Vinyl Tubing 1/8 Idx3/16 Odx400'
The copper or brass tubing can be found at one of your local hardware stores.I no there has been a few post here with much of the info needed to build one of these. If you need more assistance feel free to pm me with any ?s.I would be happy to help.

Thanks for the links. So for parts I know I need/want the following:

-the box you linked
-some brass tubing from a hardware store (is this tubing to go into the bottle while the plastic goes up to the cart/atty?)
-plastic tubing you linked
-horn switch @ madvapes
-510 battery connector @ madvapes
-empty bottle @ madvapes

I assume that size box fits a 10ml bottle? Or 5ml? It looks big enough for 10, but correct me if I am wrong.

If I were to put an LED on there, I would probably put just a single color in for when the unit is on, no changing between on/off/atty activation. I assume I'll be capable of doing this?

What other parts do I need? Also, how should I be wiring this sucker together properly without blowing myself up?

If there are any other parts I need, I assume I can get them from madvapes, they seem to have a lot.

As long as I know all the parts I need and the basic 'wire this to this to this' I should be able to pull it off.

Does anything specifically HAVE to be soldered or will epoxy work fine in most spots? I do have a solder iron and I have used it before, I'm just rusty on my soldering as it's been a few years since shop class.

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it!

pic is crappy but you have an idea. think the switch would fit. you have to do some carving on the box as you probly expect... you can also put the switch on top next to the batt/atty connector...

im quite sure the switch fits, go for it, mang. most part of it stays out of the box. at first i wanted mine to have a 5V booster with 2 switches (1 for 3.7 the other connected with the booster) but now i dont think it'd be necessary cos the big batt gives a nice hit plus with these LR attys...
but i still want it to have a charger circuit.

Another question I have is: what modifications do I have to make to the box itself to fit an 18650? I can tell I'll need to cut part of the box out, where is the easiest/safest spot to do this and how do I get the battery cap reattached to actually make the battery work? Would it just be better to use an 18500?

Also, are there any other parts other than what I listed that I need?

Why not? It seems like such a good idea!:w00t:

One more question, cuz I couldn't find the answer to this one... I'm going to be using a dual red/green LED from madvapes... I want it to be green when the master switch is on, and turn red when I push the vape switch. How would I wire it to accomplish this? Where do I put the resistor(s) when doing this? I know this is probably ridiculously simple, but I am a ridiculously simple person.

Hey Jiff after reading your email and your post it looks to me like you haven't even built a simple nico stick.I think i would start there befor i attempted a bottom fed mod.I am not saying you cant do it some guys can just read a book and do just about anything but it is rare.I think you will find most of us that mod started with a simple nico stick and moved up the latter from there.Kinda the learn to walk before you run theory.

Hah, I'm not the type to start off easier.:p

I actually sat down late last night and built the bottle/tubing/cartridge. I don't have a camera to upload pictures at the moment, but basically I have a 10ml bottle, cut part of the nipple off and put tubing from a lighter through it and epoxy-d it so it was air tight (except for the tubing leaving the top). I have it looped up to a cartridge that has a hole drilled in it to fit the tubing into it. I haven't cut the tube or attached it to the cartridge yet, since I need to measure the length first, but the concept itself works (tested it with water in the bottle). The only place I have cut the tube thus far was angle-cutting the part of the tube that is in the bottle.

Once I get the box I'll probably add a piece somewhere to hold the bottle in place so it isn't rattling around inside, I'll also then measure how long the tubing should be cut and do that, then put it into the cart and epoxy it.

It won't end up bottom fed, it'll be dripping. Decided that would be easier.

I kinda figured I should just jump straight to this, since I already have a big battery mod I bought, so I'm just looking to make something that uses the same battery but I don't have to refill carts.

After the help folks gave me here, I know where the wires should all be going, and I'm ordering a few boxes in case I break one beyond repair. Soo, I should be good to go come pay day.
