Mechanical Box Mod. HELP

So i have been looking to build my first mod. i want to do a mechanical box, and i need help. I found a regulated samsung 2800, 4.35v battery pair for around 11 bucks from fasttech, and didnt know if that is a good buy.

Please tell me what to buy.

Battery: i want 2500-3000mah, around 4.5v regulated

Threading: 510 please

Button: preferably something semi-flush, with a medium size. i don't want a basic push button that sticks out a lot.

Box: i am a mechanical engineering student with access to a full machine shop. i would prefer something aluminum, but i would consider plastic. Also, i am interested in building a wooden box at a later time. i would like something smaller that's easy to hold, but not a tiny box.

Atty: I have a smok Caterpillar rda that i use for dripping on my Tesla Sidewinder II currently, and it works well, but i need the mod so i can have more freedom to adjust the resistance and i currently cannot do dual coil setup on this battery because the amp draw would be too high.

LED: I don't know how much more complicated adding an LED would be, so please help.

Variable Voltage: i enjoy VV on my battery i have now, and didnt know how hard it would be to wire one in. I had a few electronics classed in highschool, and i can do basic soldering, but i need help to know how, and if i can add VV.

Please help me out on this guys, i really need to get a different vape setup. I need this to be as low cost, yet quality as possible.
Thank You.

I wouldn't recommend buying batteries from fastech, amazon or ebay for vaping purposes, especially for use in a mechanical.
Always buy batteries from reputable dealers/vendors.

The battery's continuous discharge amp rate is far more important than mah.

What would be your reconmended vendor that offers low prices?

That battery has a max continuous discharge rate of 5.2A which is extremely low and limiting for use with a mechanical and an insufficient amp rate for use in regulated devices and protected which shouldn't be used in regulated apvs.

You seem confused / unsure of what batteries you should use.

I'm not a modder but Baditude (our resident battery/safety expert) has some great blogs on batteries and safety:

1. Battery Basics for Mods
- choose the safest and right battery for your applications here. Includes a list of name brand, high-drain, safe-chemistry batteries with mAh & amp ratings in 18350, 18490/18500, and 18650 sizes.

2. Deeper Understanding of Mod Batteries pt 1
- what do the letters & numbers on batteries mean? What's the difference between ICR, IMR, and hybrid batteries?

3. Deeper Understanding of Mod Batteries pt 2
- protected vs unprotected batteries, what is Ohm's Law, inline battery fuses, what is an AW battery, stacking batteries.
