Just bought my first Mech mod today. This post inspired me to get involved. I decided to go with the MicroStick by Chel. Its size really appealed to me. I kinda wanted to move away from the "light saber" style PV's. I turned out to be $139.00 with shipping. I believe its coming from overseas so they said to expect a 30 day deliver. I don't mind I got my Provari keeping me company in the meantime.

Do you have either of them, to which you could compare them? Now that I'm reading about the Stingray, It's swayed me away from the Panzer, and soon the Nemesis.

I have the fasttech pegasus clone. Now a copper body will conduct electricity better and have a lower voltage drop than say a stainless steel mod. The Pegasus had a 0.08 voltage drop under a 1 ohm load (according to VapingWithTwisted420's video). The red copper stingray just looks really nice, the buttons work really well. I have the brass stingray clone and it hits very very hard, my Pegasus just a bit harder (because its copper). It all comes down to aesthetics. I will tell you that copper does patina quite quickly and will leave a light scent on your hands that smells like pennies.

+1 on using Sony VTC5 batteries. As you gain experience building, they will handle most anything you throw at them (within reason).

I have a hcigar nemesis and a fasttech black copper stingray. The stingray is a POS, the button is terrible. However, it is threaded the same as the nemesis, so when I want to bring it out I just throw the nemmy button on it and I'm golden.

You can also get a magnet upgrade for the nemesis button for dirt cheap, makes it even better IMHO.

After all that, though, my hardest hitting mod and the one i bust out when someone asks for clouds is a K101. Super cheap, ugly as sin, but hits like a truck. And will take a beating.

I love FTs nemesis, i've had no issues with it what so ever.
Bought brass one along with aluminium tubes for looks and less v-drop.

If you want to cloudchase your best bet would be to get a nice RDA and learn how to coil it properly, the tiny ammount of v-drop you're going to get won't be noticeable until you're going realy low subohm which i don't recommend at the moment since you're too new.

As for batterys go with sony vtc 4/5. Since you want to cloudchase these are the best batteries to get.
And never draw more amp current than the batteries can handle as someone mentioned earlier. That's plain stupid and dangerous.

Bet those VTC5s are counterfeit. Look at the bottom of the battery, the fakes have a raised bottom (portion covered by the wrapper is recessed), and the genuine have a completely flat bottom.
The little square logo on the genuine looks like it's etched or burned on , and the fake looks like it's printed on.

That's the thing about brass/copper though, even though you said it has a less voltage drop, I'm not sure if I could get over the smell of my hand. Lol. I'm a very picky person when it comes to spending money. When it comes to Amps, and stuff like that, with batteries, I still haven't had the chance to look up things about safety, I've gotten the basic knowledge of it, but I have yet to look into it. I WILL THOUGH, so no worries on that! As of now, I left my job and starting a new career Monday. Therefore after my first checks come in and what not comes in, I'll be looking into this stuff a lot more seriously.

But seriously, thank all of you for being so informative, this is honestly the first forum I've been on that's actually helpful.

You're better off spending some time getting experience rebuilding on a regulated mod.

I have a few mech mods, I went back to tobacco, they were just too much work. Looking to build a high watt pv with a dual coil and large air holes, being a novice and not having the adjustability really gets frustrating.

I don't want another regulated mod. I'd rather take the time to learn how to do this right, and build something I LOVE, rather than have a chance of smoking another cigarette. & I'm determined to do this. :b

Well great if you already have a regulated mod.

From what I understood from post#18, what you are interested in is REBUILDING your own coils.

You don't need a mechanical mod to rebuild coils.
In fact, if you have no experience with rebuilding coils, it is better to start first rebuilding your coils on a regulated mod which you already have.

I do get where you're coming from. The only set up I have that I could rebuild coils for is the Aspire Nautilus tank... Which I've done once before, and loved it. That's one reason as to why I wanna move onto mechanical mods.

The tobh atty somebody mentioned above is the RDA where you can REBUILD COILS.

That is the part you need. It has nothing to do with mechanical mods.

The Aspire Nautilus is not a proper rebuildable.

The things you need to be looking at are like the tobh, igo-w, trident, kayfun, aqua, fogger, stillaire, magma. These are the REBUILDABLES.

If it's a mechanical mod you want then that's all fine, but everything you said so far indicates that its a REBUILDABLE that you actually want.

I'm a confusing person to understand then I suppose, I do understand what you mean though.
