Neither here nor there
I have some VK gear, and I desperately want to join the ranks of happy VK vapers.

I have been using Prodigies v1 and v2. They give a satisfying vape, when they are cleaned just-so with fresh batts and a perfectly broken in atomizer.

The problem arises when any one of these variables is off.

I spend a fair amount of time fiddling with the stuff, hoping to get it just right.

Anyway, when I vape with the VK, I get nearly no vapor. There is a plastic-y flavor to some of the cartos.

What might I be doing wrong?

If I had my choice of the one vaping unit to be my magic bullet, I'd love for it to be the VK.

Help me, please?

In general, you probably won't get quite as much vapor from a KR8 as from a 510. Are you using a VK battery? If so, if it is an auto, you may find that you need to give it a quick "primer puff" to heat up the carto before you take a drag. A slower, easy draw works best on the VK. Make sure at least one notch on the battery end of the carto lines up with an air hole on the battery. If the draw is too "airy", a slower drag will help - some newer VK batteries have larger air holes, and a few folks have found them to be too airy, and have blocked one of the air holes by various means.

A burnt or plasticky taste would seem to indicate that the carto is dry - how long had you used it?

*edit* - I neglected to say "Welcome aboard!" - hopefully we'll find a solution that has you happy with your VK!

Honestly it took me a bit to get used to the VK's... It wasnt until lurking on the forums for a while that I realized the problem was the Auto Batteries that I had... I was getting the "Airy" draws that pianoguy was talking about. I got a manual battery and found that it works so much better for me. Truth be told though I was going to do anything to make it work because I love doing business with V4L. Great company, give it a chance and you'll get the hang of it.

Geeker..welcome to the family! I hope you get the problems ironed out..it is a change from hig volt to be sure. I used 3.whatever mods so there isn't too big a difference for me. I just like the flavors. May I suggest you try adding a few drops of V.G. or glycerin to your liqids? They will increase the vapor production. The new premium cartos have a higher mix of V.G to the P.G. liquid for that purpose.

Also have you tried an adapter with your mods so you use a cartomizer?
The cartos won't last as long with high volt..but they should be good!

You can use cartos on the Prodigy (with the right adapter) I use my V4L cartos on my V2 and it AWESOME as a matter of fact V4L cartos are all use on my V2 - no screwing with attys for me especially at high voltage.

in regards to the flavor... to be perfectly honest I absolutely hated 99% of the flavors I tried in the prefilled cartomizers from V4L...I put em aside and didn't think much of them...it wasn't so much a plastic taste as a chemical, perfumy taste (it tasted like little old ladies in church smell)

Then I was reading a post the other day and someone suggested that that chemical taste could be from the manufacturing process in the cartomizers and that they're made and filled and because they're new they're still de-gassing and it permeates and flavors the juice, and that cartos that are blister packed are worse because there's no where for that gas to go, same somewhat with ones that are individually wrapped... and what it really is is the taste of a carto that is too fresh..
So I had to try it out...after all those cartos had been sitting loose in a box that had been put up since early Jan..dug em out last night and tried em...and I'll be an SOB if 3/4 of them weren't perfectly fine now... no off taste to them i suspect the other 1/4 I just don't like the flavor because the same underlying chemical taste isnt there either I just don't like em..

I don't know how long this process takes...but it was an interesting observation...enough to take note of it at least for me..not that you want to hear to let your cartos sit ignored for a while...

I am new to the VK line of products but one thing that i have noticed is that the new premium Cartos are way better t vapor production as well as Draw. For the past 2 days i been experimenting with filling blank cartos that are non premiums and guess what, once i finish them off i toss them and i got back to my premiums. there is nothing like it. Taste better and vape better.

So I would suggest you give premium cartos a spin. they re very very good and make the old cartos like like POS.
