The RC guys have a lot of toys to play with.
The cars do not go for light and compact as they need to be rugged.
The Planes and Helio's go for light and compact
YMMV

Our needs are for much smaller than what these meters seem to be. But you never know.

Here's what I found

HobbyKing R/C Hobby Store : In-Line Voltage and Amperage Meter
"Easily monitor your model's voltage and amperage usage in real-time with this compact in-line meter"

HobbyKing R/C Hobby Store : HobbyKing PO Wattmeter 100A
"The meter displays watts, amps and volts on the same screen "

I took apart a cheep Multimeter and have yet to figure out how to trick it in to doing what I want.

The R/C monitors are a great idea, but I see one problem. The first two you posted from HobbyKing don't operate below 5-6 volts. If they went lower, they could be awesome to gut and drop into a box mod.

The SkyRC meter has a lot of promise though.
I thought the same thing until someone pointed out that it needs aux power to show voltage under 4volts :( that would mean, it would need a seperate batt to power it. At least that is what I gathered from what I was told.

If you are running 2 batts in series, it would be fine. If you really wanted to run a single 3.7v battery, you could run a VERY small LiPo battery like what they use in a micro-sized R/C helicopter. The 150mah batts for my E-Flite mCX2 are really tiny.
