I would love to participate in this program as I have a special reason to do so. I lost my best friend of 30 years, buddy, confidant and all around great guy to bladder cancer on 10/27/11. He was only 48 at the time and I would like to do something in his memory and also help this great cause!

But first let me preface this post by saying, I am not "techy" when it comes to PC's. I can do some "techy" PC related things to a certain extent, with very detailed directions, but I feel that if I try to participate in this program I would need a "Dummies Guide to FAH" LOL. Basically something that would give step-by-step instructions minus the technical language in layman's terms. Should I participate, I would basically need someone to hold my hand (in a platonic way of course ;) ) and guide me through it. I'm a pretty quick learner, so hopefully it wouldn't take too long for me to get a comfortable grasp on what I'm doing.

I've been lurking on this forum for about a week now and read all I can and tried to understand how this works, as far as my PC goes. I just installed Core Temp and have it running, but I have no clue as to what the temperature threshold of my PC is or should be. Also by reading all the "techy" talk and higher mathematical language, I think I lost a few brain cells trying to figure it out  I'm an English professor and during my college years when I had to take algebra, I nearly lost my mind trying to pass that course. Also, I, along with many of my colleagues have never figured out why English majors need algebra anyway LOL. But I digress, which is not common if you have read many of my posts.

One main concern I have is if my connection speed would be a problem. I live in the sticks and am lucky to have a DSL connection. My connection speeds are, on the average, 0.46Mbps (downloading) and 0.21Mbps (uploading). I used to play MMORPG's such as Rift, WoW and the like and rarely had lag issues about 95% of the time. Also and most importantly, I don't wanna mess up my PC!

Here are my PC specs (let me know if you need more and tell me where to find them):

we can break it down and help as much as needed , and the connection isnt a problem the only internet usage is when it needs to get or send the work. about 2-3 minutes depending on your net speed, sometimes i will use my 3g modem if the net is wonky at my place so it can get more work.

it will download the work, then run it on the machine, before it finishes it will try to download a new one, and then when the current one is finished it will start the new one and sent the old one, then it is done with the net for a while.

in one of the stickies is a complete install guide, try to use it to install the program in expert mode.
if any problems come here and ask we/i will help the best we can.
