Long story short, when I got my SE 4081 (typical mall robbery) a couple weeks ago, and tried it, I thought, "Maybe. Maybe this could help me quit one day." After a week of vaping with it, I went my first day in 20 years w/o an analog! I was ready to not buy anymore cigs, at all. But then... I guess the atty. got clogged or dirty... the vapor cut in half. Nothing had changed; I was using old cartridges with drops. So I'm pretty sure it's the atty. Tonight, I soaked it in alcohol for 2 hours, and now there is no change. Still a weak hit, no throat hit felt. I'm so bummed. I was RIGHT there!

That's the one thing with electronic cigarettes ALL the parts are disposable. It's a good idea to have spares of everything because parts poop out at the worst of times. Attys are of course the most variable. One might die a day after you get it another might be an undying beast that lasts month upon month.

Many suppliers tell you to carry extras, but none go as far as to say the failure rate of all parts demands you carry a back up and 5 more back ups for the back up. It is experience that makes you carry a little pouch like me with tons of stuff as a back up.

As you get used to the warning signs it will become second nature to just throw away the failing parts and not worry about making them last longer. Most new esmokers cant wrap their heads around throwing away a $10 battery or $5 atomizer if it is still sort of working. Yet the act of smoking analogs which costs much more are destroyed each time. You have to get used to just abandoning the equipment and look forward to the fresh atomizer or battery.

Get yourself an adapter and use cartos. I can't seem to burn one out and now I got a ton of them. Just clean them out and start all over again. Plus they are inexspensive. Make sure your battery has enough voltage to run them though. Good luck.
Look in the cleaning posts as it sounds like you might have a crust built up on it. It's worth a try. Some people use vinegar and some everclear, vodka, 151 etc.

Don't give up you'll get there. It's a learning curve to get into new habits. It really isn't that different than when you started with analogs- we all learned the habit to anticipate how many cigarettes we needed in the house to make sure we had enough to get us through to the morning.

Now your just learning new habits- how many spare parts, juice etc do I need to keep on hand. From what I've read atties are probably the most important part to make sure you keep spares on hand.

So, oh well your atty is messing with you right now, but get a new one and a few spares and then you can be ready to make that plunge to toss out the analogs.

Wutzthedeal I got an atty that went to acting up kinda the same way. I tried highping’s method of atty resurrection and it straightened it right out for me. It will not let me post a link to his thread, but it is located in the tips and tricks section as “My Atty Resurrection Method” .

These things pay for themselves fast.

Stick with it, be proud of your accomplishments.
Im a 22yr smoker(av. 7300 cigs a year @ $2,792) and these things have reduced my smoking to nothing(current investment $120 as opposed to $91 for cigs in less than 14 days, and I have about a months worth left).

Just remember to hold on to it after you get to the point where you think you can go it alone. Im not smoking anymore and I hope to be able to put the vape down as well at some point. Maybe use it as a recreational device that goes along with beer..

Don't give up, many of us had a similar experience. Mine was user error after I started to vape and didn't smoke for about a week. Only had 2 batteries at the time and forgot to charge them. I bought one pack of cigs until I could get everything working and plenty of back ups on hand. Haven't touched an analog since and that was 2 months ago.

I am so paranoid now that I have dreams about running out of supplies, lol. Probably why I now have a mod, KR8, (7) 510s, 801, (5) 401s, a bunch of extra batteries, atomizers and cartomizers, tons of liquid and DIY supplies. Don't anticipate actually running out of anything anytime soon

I over prepared in some ways. I have 5 atty's, but only the 2 original batteries that came with it (so far no need for more), and a pass-thru for home use.

I did go a wee bit nuts my first month with E-Liquid. I have 19 bottles now. I did have 21, but I gave 2 to a co-worker, who *use* to smoke and is now officially switched. Milk Chocolate, and Vanilla just didn't fit me. Otherwise my flavor selection is outstanding. I love switching flavors throughout my vaping time.

Short advice - dump the crap overpriced unit get some decent gear and good juice and rediscover what the fuss is all about. Don't throw good money after bad on your smokingeveryminute thing.
A lot of us didnt intend giving up smoking it was just a side effect (if you will) of using our PVs, but you need the right PV for YOU, and some nice juice and off you go. DOn't worry about how long it takes to 'give up' - everyone is different - take t slow and good luck

Thank you all very much for your input. I went back to the mall today and she gave me a new atty and battery (but did not let me keep the old ones.... not necessarily upset that i couldn't keep the old semi-functional atty, but I wanted that backup battery!). Anyway, I am so desperate for that PCC combo I saw on AquaVapor that I may have to go pop a convenience store for cash. If I get that (a reliable pcc and at least one extra battery) I'm FINISHED with ANALOGS FOREVER! Vaping is THAT GOOD!

Side story; was smoking an analog a few days ago cuz my battery was dead... got a little edgy because I was CRAVING the E-CIG! Sitting there smoking my Marlboro, I felt like I was smoking an inferior product. WOW! I'm definitely going to resell.... just have to find out who's product I believe in the most (and get rich enough to try their line).

I like the 510's. You can switch out the parts with alot of mods out there, especially the atty's. So i have about 6 batts and 11 attys. Ordered two mods that take 510.
Of course now I have a list for hv attys and all that.

Once the mod bug bites you, you get into trouble. I am off to hubby's shop as I have an idea to improve a cart mod. I need an intervention but this is the wrong forum to get that!

hey whatz i want to tell you about my new vape4life thing i was like you i used njoy they were great with there warranty and replaced every broken atty but i could never seem to get away from anologs. I just got my new vape king thing and man im pumped the batterys have never been an issue for me so far knock on wood so this this give you a new atty ever time you get a cartrige i love this thing the cost was very resenable got all kinds of goodies with the strater kit like usb charger pass through usb and the pcc plus two batterys and 5 carts look into it if you can its a great tool.

This happened to me after one week,,,,,when all my vaping stuff - quit...and I mean "quit"....but, with the help of this forum,,,,I am still here...and hope you will be to...
One word of complete truth: One month without analogs...as of March 11...That is the truth with me....Hope you somehow enjoy the feeling, as I do...thanks to this forum..

Thanks for this, but I can assure you that I wasn't not looking for a reason to stop vaping and go back to analogs--I was looking for a way to throw away analogs altogether. I didn't want my atty. to fail. I didn't want my vapor to cut in half, and the throat hit to disappear. I didn't want to have to walk however many miles I did trying to re-located a place in a mall that I couldn't remember how to get to because it's that big and I'm new here. I didn't want to go back a SECOND time when it happened again. Do I really sound like somebody who wants to give up vaping? Today, I just ordered another e-cig and a PCC and three things of juice.

My whole point is this--I appreciate when somebody tells me if I'm wrong about something. I can then learn to avoid the mistakes in coming to that conclusion, so, I just have to tell you, I'm not looking for a reason to go back to analogs--since my 1st day with this e-cig, my hopes have been through the roof and my excitement literally irritates people.

I just mapped what my expenses will be (starting now, 17/03/2010) if I don't fail and go back to real cigs.

Even if I buy 60ml of e-liguid every month (2 30ml in this example at £20 a bottle) and buy a new atomizer every single week (5 at £8 a pop in this example) I would still save £148.24 by 19/04/2010.

That's just over about a month. I like the sounds of this ....!
