iCig Anyone???? Newbie in the room :-)

Hi All, as a smoker of 14 years (about 10 a day) it was about that time I gave up (same old same old I know) so to cut a long story short here I am; a new member on the ECF and 5 days clean of analogs due to my recent purchase of the iCig. I bought it due to the amount of positive feedback on amazon from customers and am initially happy with it.

However - I was hoping to get a bit of feedback from anyone else out there with this style of ecig - from what I can gather it is pretty much the same as the Blu ecig - i.e an auto battery with an open atomiser which takes various flavours of carts.

I found the carts initially satisfying but the throat hit wears off quite quickly and pretty soon its just vapours with no hit leaving me after something more (oooo analogs). So i read up on direct dripping and decided to try that out due to the positive response that seems to get. Sooooo..... I bought a bottle of 36mg B+H (benson and hedges for my overseas friends) flavour which was sold as a strong throat hit juice and tried one drop on the atty, not much happening - loads of vapour but no real TH - so tried two drops . . . . same again - then I tried a drop in a half used cart which was a bit better but still no real joy although the vapour produced is immense.

I am begging to wonder if I have knackered the atty or something - it looks a bit worn but still produces a shed load of vapour I'm just not getting the TH I get from a new cart - have I bought a poor juice? it was highly recommended by previous customers? is my ecig ....? all of the above? who knows?

Anyways any advice or help or just telling me I'm a .... who should have researched more would be very much appreciated

As far as TH goes English...do you know the PG/VG ratio? PV and VG (hover your mouse over the letters to see what they stand for) are what make up the juice. More PG = more throat hit. More VG = more vapor. I can't comment on attys cause I've never used one. But if you can find a vendor that sells juices with more PG (like 80/20 PG/VG) then you will get more throat hit. Also, a higher voltage device will give you more TH, but juice will be cheaper.

iCig is what I call a ripoff rebrander. All slim ecigs are made in China. A ripoff rebrander slaps their own name on one or more models and jacks up the prices. They charge $19 for an atomizer that should cost $7, $40 for a battery that should cost $15. And they are hoping customers will never find out what models they really are and will be locked into them for parts and carts.

The jack model is some penstyle, possible Joye 302 or DSE801 but it could be something else incompatible.

The spade model - not enough info in the photos - can see what gender the battery is and would also need to know diameter. spade has a vaporizer. if the battery is over 9.0mm diameter and the battery is female then I would guess RN4081 unless the bridge pokes up out of the atomizer and then I would get DSE103. But there is some other similar model around that is compatible with neither and that model is unidentified.

I would actually recommend returning it within their 30 day moneyback guarantee. Buy an identified well-supported model like Joye 510 or KR808D-1 or DSE801 if you liked the "Jack". Then return the iCig.

I've never sought after TH (smoked Marlboro Lights) but from what I read here the keys to increase TH are: higher nic (you're doing 36 mg which is as high as I would recommend), PG, higher voltage; but also adding PGA or menthol to the juice might help. You can get menthol crystals to make your own menthol drops (dissolve in equal amount of PG) or possibly buy some premade drops. This is concentrated menthol drops not a menthol ejuice. When direct dripping, drip 3 drops about every 7 to 10 puffs.

@ dormouse - I think there's two different brands selling under the same name. The icig dot com website with the spade ecig etc is a different one to the one I got from amazon (I think)

Any ways a bit of an update - I've been plugging away with the direct drip technique and have had some decent results - nothing too crazy but a vast improvement to earlier on. I guess its all about learning what works best for the set up you are currently using. - I can see myself upgrading in the near future to something a bit more fearsome - Any reccomendations? I see the joye 510 talked about a lot so I kind of figure that must be worth a look in?

Changing the PG/VG ratio of your eliquid has no more than a 2-3% effect on throat hit. Warmth of the vapor (bigger batteries) and nicotine level, makes up 90+% of the throat hit equation.

Most if not all of the shining reviews on Amazon are probably false. Find some on here for that brand - if there are any. There are hundreds of scam review sites out there, all you have to do is see if those reviews are balanced by the same volume or conclusion in reviews here. Either those reviews just don't exist here or the results are way different. As ECF has more reviews than anywhere else by a factor of somewhere between ten and a hundred, that should tell you something.

The main keys to TH are nicotine and heat
Fat battery models (like Ego, Riva, etc) and mods with 450mah+ batteries can use LR low resistance parts that use battery charge faster and vape hotter

Some things that can further enhance the throat sensation are certain flavors, particularly mint, menthol, cinnamon, ginger, pepper, other spices, some liquor flavors, some strong flavors, as well as additives alcohol or QHit etc.
