iClear 16 and Cotton Wick

Hi everyone! I've been doing a lot of reading about wicks because my stock wicks were pretty gross looking. The part inside the coil was black and it was making my flavor taste bad. I just spent the time and replaced my wicks in my iClear with cotton yarn. So far it seems like it's working fine. As expected the flavor is a little off at first, but I noticed I'm getting more vapor per pull. I'm happy it's working because I have a ton of this yarn and now I can replace my wicks weekly, if not every few days if necessary. Just wanted to share my method and results! [emoji4]

What I did:
*Cut a few feet of Lily Sugar n Cream Ecru (natural, unbleached color),
*Boil in water for about 15 minutes,
*Pressed in clean paper towels to get the water out,
*Removed the stock wicks by using a tweezer to push the coils against the pulling of the wick, I also twisted the wick tighter to make it thinner. It came out fairly easy...
*Gently dry-burned the coils (I have a manual battery) (let it get red for a second or two a few times),
*Untwist one end of the cotton yarn, leaving the rest twisted, and put one strand into a thin tapestry needle,
*Thread the needle through the coil,
*Strand by strand, I threaded the bottom coil, and then the top. Once you have all the threads through the coil, pull each one individually and gently to get the ends to their correct extended length and remove the bunching, twist the yarn tighter, and use a tweezer to push back while pulling the yarn in,
*Trim the yarn so it goes about the same length as the stock wick,
*Put it all back together and fill 'er up!

I also turned the filled tank upside down to let the juice go into the coiled wick. Also, I waited about 10 minutes with the unit on its side to make sure the juice was in the coil and I didn't burn the cotton.

As mentioned before, the taste in the beginning is a little weird, but after several pulls I've found the taste is a lot better than the stock, even when they were new. I'm loving the fact that I'm getting way more vapor, too. Thanks for reading!
