I just received some iclear 16's with my itaste vv3v kit and while they are great for a non-leaking solution for extended vaping they absolutely destroy my juice. First off I've never been a fan of what carto's do to juice but this is ridiculous. I have a normal 18mg 555 juice that is very smooth and enjoyable on virtually everything I've vaped it in until now. Even at the lowest settings on the vv the flavor is crazy harsh, throat it is brutal, vape is hot, juice seems to be twice as sweet. Now some will read that last sentence and say "Sign Me Up!" I prefer a more laid back cool vape with as little throat hit as possible. Never got throat hit from cigs, not even from non-filters so the fascination with throat hit in vaping is amusing to me. If you dig it then awesome, I mean no disrespect its just not for me.

The clearo is rated at 2ohms and Ive confirmed that to be true with the vv but will check it with my multi-meter just to be sure. Im just curious if this is normal behavior with iclears/carto tanks. I love the portability aspect and could learn to stomach carto filler taste but this thing just fries my juice to an unvapable state.

I think we are going to need a bit of clarification before being able to offer any help.

The iClear 16 is a clearomizer, not a carto-tank. There is no carto with the Iclear 16, so perhaps you aren't actually using an iClear 16, but have a mislabeled carto-tank instead?

Once we figure out what device you are actually using then it should be simple to track down your problem. ;)

Wow, 'face-palm'! Yeah I waaay missed the boat there. It is an iclear16. I '...'umed it was a carto and just filled it up and started vaping. Since this came as part of a kit i never bothered to do research on the attys. My bad. I took it apart last night and gave it a thorough cleaning. It's much much better but still pretty aggressive for a 2.0 ohm at 3.3 volts, (the lowest setting my vv will do). The dual coil is my culprit i think... also didnt know that. The factory oil seems to be the other bugger which is now resolved.

Don't think ill be buying these again. I have this same issue with some 'actual' cartos that are dual coil. I prefer a pretty lazy cool vape.

Speaking of lazy. Sorry for the premature post thread. Had I just payed closer attention to what I had I could have come here with a more informed question. Im usually much more up to speed on a topic im starting. :-/

Here is the question I should have posted: What do think would be the best small ego tank system for someone looking for a cool vape and leak proof? Preferably not cartos but willing try if its the only good option for me.

Thanks/Sorry

An Evod or T3S (or similar) should work well on your VV3. Maybe try for the higher ohm range, say 2.8ish

Bottom coils tend to vape a little cooler than top coils.

While nothing is leakproof, most of the B/C units I've used are pretty close. Although they will start to seep a little when the level gets really low. But I haven't had any issues with leaks due to position - i.e. upside down or sideways in my pocket.
