Hi all, I'm currently on an goblin mini on dual coils, 5 wraps each, 2mm ID giving me about 0.27ohms. I realized that I can get the same readings on a 1.4mm ID as well with 6 wraps.

Issue here is, when vaping on 2mm ID coils I'm getting a mouthful of spitting compared to 1.4Mm ID.

Why is that so? can anybody enlighten me?

Currently I prefer 1.4mm ID because it doesn't spit but the coils gunk up relatively faster than a 2mm ID but it's a pita to wick such small coils.

Thanks in advanced!

hey @iSuck , i'm a novice myself and has been vaping for over 2.5 weeks now but i'm steadily getting the ropes of it. well spitback can be caused by a number of reasons one being you might be over dripping your wick especially since its an RTA (Rebuildable Tank Atomizer). Try checking your wick to see if it's overflowing, especially near the vent holes. try decreasing/increasing your watts as different % of juices need more or less heat to vape properly. You should also check your whole RTA if its properly installed as I believe the goblin mini is a 3 piece atomizer. See what works for you and get back to us here to see what worked!

Keep vaping!

The coil might be too small thus affecting the wicking. Could try 2.5 and see if it helps

not sure if it is because ive built 1mm coils without any spitting.
although the last tank ive used was the russian so it was quite a long time back

Ice Castle!
The smallest diameter of coil I manage for cotton wick is 1.5mm. 1mm is like coiling on a silica wick.
BTW, what's the issue with silica wick? I see everyone avoiding it...
hmm being a new vapor myself, i only know whats the norm now... didn't tried the old ways... like nichrome or silica... how do they perform?

Try a scottish roll but with half of the usual amount to see if it can help.
I just checked it out and it seems kinda tedious but again no harm trying it out! Will keep you posted!

i don't get spitting when i inhale but my friend who's inexperienced does using the same device..inhalation problem maybeeeee?
No offense but is there really a difference? Isn't it just inhale? I tried slow and fast both doesn't make any difference tho.

In actual fact, using 1.4mm doesn't spit at all! I'm guessing bigger ID will have more wick thus causing the coils to be be filled with plenty of juice?

Quite tricky to get the wicking right on the GM. Sometimes less is more.

Yup I understand that the GM wicking is tricky but I've done 1.4mm coils and it works just fine but the flavour is a little muted compared to 2mm coils cos that little hole to stuff your cotton so you gotta roll em quite tightly together. And i always peel off the top layers of the cotton before wicking to somehow fluff the cotton up a lil more and it'll tear if it's not tightly packed enough.

Silica wick better than cotton & mesh, they can be burn dry unlike cotton & practically tasteless.
I'm sure its because of some health issue since everyone seems to avoid using it.
The wick use in ego atty are all silica(correct me if I'm wrong).

cotton gives a 'cleaner' flavour
its also much easier to mould so u can use different sized coils and this also allows contact coils to be done much easier
another thing is that when u want to rewick silica, you'll have to recoil as well (could be wrong on this)
