Don't get me wrong I still am a noob at this but,
If I could start over with my very first order I still would go with a ProVari but, I wouldn't of ordered the accessories off ProVape.
The batteries, battery charger, and tank I would of got somewhere else.

I still would get the AW batteries but just found them cheaper.

The battery charger I would of got a Nitecore i4.

The DCT tank I would of got a Submarine Tank off Tanks - Mom and Pop Vapor Shop , Just because for a noob llike me, they pretty easy to fill.

Cartos I got off of CCV in there 15 Carto Deal section. They got Boge and Smoktech 3 box bundle deal from $18.85 to $25.85
I haven't had to order any more Cartos since my first order so I didn't really see if there was any better deals out there.
15 Carto Deals

Juices 8-o I don't even want to talk about how much money I wasted on bad juice

But I just ordered off of MT Baker and Halo, so still trying to find a good juice for a good price.
Maybe some day I can make my own juice, once I figure this whole PG an VG thing
I understand what they are just not sure what I am, am I a PG 80% VG 20% or a maybe a PG 20% VG 80% :?:

All I know is I am Having FUN trying to figure it out :vapor:

Being that 90% of the time I am using my two Provari's, one would think I would have chosen a Provari right off the bat. Thing is, when I started with a Smokeless Image starter kit I didn't even know a Provari existed, and probably would have wondered why anyone would use such a large e-cig.

However, not 3 weeks into the cigalikes, I was already frustrated with needing to carry a few batteries with me to last out my day and then having to charge them all in the evening. I also didn't care for the pre-filled cartomizers, or even the blank cartos used solo. I saw mods that used rechargeable replaceable batteries that could last an entire day on a charge. I saw cartotanks with juice capacities that could last two days between refills.

I no longer was concerned about the size of my e-cig. My priority was now function over form. I did some research and decided to skip Ego's altogether and go for the Big Guns. I got both a BB and Silver Bullet from AltSmoke. The BB is a smaller, pocketable mechanical, and good for away from the house. The Silver Bullet mechanical would prove to be my go-to mod for home for the next 3 - 4 months. Cartotanks were a vast improvement of using cartos solo. Life was bliss.

I had read about variable voltage, but didn't consider that I might like it. Then I got to try a Kicked Silver Bullet at an AltSmoke vape shop. I was immediately impressed and looked into variable voltage options. My research pointed to a Provari as the best choice available. I reasoned that I could afford the best high end VV mod because of the money that I was not spending every month on cigarettes. The choice of the Provari was the best decision I have made since I've begun vaping.

I've since purchased a Mini Provari for my 1 year anniversary being smoke free, which is now my favorite mod. I've also acquired other mods for various reasons, mainly because they can best serve particular purposes and also because I had become sort of a collector for a period of time. Among them are an iTaste MVP, Segelei/Ovale V8, Smoktech VV Gripper, Smoktech Gripper (mechanical), and a Vapage VMod-XL bottom feeder mechanical. I'm glad each one is in my collection, as they have expanded my knowledge of mods and still have their particular uses in certain situations. I was no longer just a vapor, but a hobbyist, too.

If forced to choose a main mod and a single backup, it would be my Mini & Standard size Provari. IBTanked cartotanks with Ikenvape cartos continue to be my main juice attachment, although I do use iClear 30 clearomizers and a couple of RBA's.

I think I just would've just skipped all the Blu's and Finns and went straight to mods.
But then again it was because of the Blus that I found this site (looking for something better) so I guess it all worked out.:)

I second this ^^^.
On to egos, mods, tanks, drippers, attys and on and on. But I will always have a warm place in my cold, small heart for Blu-Cigs, which got the ball rolling in absolutely the right direction for me................FINALLY(!)...........directly away from the stinkies. Something gums, patches and pills could never do.
God BLESS Blu-Cigs!

I never even tried the cig alikes, I went straight to ego twists and spinners with evods
But even then, if I knew then what I knew now, I would have gone straight to mods.
Liked the evods, but noticed tiny cracks in them and rust on the inside already after 2 months.
Didn't mind the ego batteries but seem to be dying and playing up already.

I liked an iclear on the ego, but draw was a bit tight. Tried an iclear and some other 510 clearos on a mod recently and "WOW". Smaller positive pin and larger intake area maybe is the cause, but my clearos were pumping out vapor and not so tight on the draw. 'Why didn't I do this earlier?' type feeling.

Seriously, even a good ego battery is lame compared to a mod. Do yourself a favour and upgrade ASAP.
Other advice to myself besides going straight to mods: Clearos are still fine but you have to be willing to buy a lot in that case. Another example of the evod; 2 I have are absolutely awesome, 1 OK, 2 suck. With my iclear16, one is tight, one is awesome, one got a crack and leaks/sucks, similar story with my mini novas. Better if you just get a few but plan to learn to rebuild them and get as soon as possible onto proper rebuildables.

I started with cig-a-likes (Safe Cig) and liked them just fine...except for the price. I quickly moved on to V2, and quickly after that to Smokeless Image Volt. I started vaping Sept. 2011 and by the middle of November I'd moved on to vGo (an eGo sized PV with KR808d-1 threading). By the beginning of 2012 Smokeless Image came out with the X2s...and that was that for nearly a year. I was happy. VERY happy. I did pick up a few eGos with the 510 threading and liked them too.

Sept of 2012 found me branching out into "mods" or APVs. I went through the progression...variable voltage, bigger, vv/vw, box, bottom feeders. I collected a lot of nice APVs...LavaTube, VV Gripper, Bogger Box BF, Vmod, Trixie, LavaFire, Bolt Ovale V8, SID...etc. Never did get a Provari. Never really felt a "need" for one. I guess I had to go through the evolution with the "next newest thing" for awhile in order to understand what sort of vaper I was, and what would really make me happy.

Now I'm back with eGos and Evod batteries and using carto tanks. Haven't been this happy vaping in months! Went full circle, I guess. I get perfectly good battery life, I consume less juice yet vape just as much, the size is less...formidable. I'm not a big woman and the big APVs look a bit silly in my hand (even more when sucking on them!) I don't have to fiddle endlessly. My DIY juice tastes awesome, and I'm blowing clouds of vapor with it in a 2ohm single coil cartomizer (in a tank). I can use passthrough batteries again. It's all so simple. In a way I wish I'd skipped the "newer, bigger, better" phase. But I am pretty sure I had to go through it all in order to really appreciate where I am now.

The fact is I didn't know then what I know now, I had to learn. Hell I didn't even know if I would like vaping when I forked over $74 for that first eGo kit. But, the day I bought it I was a smoker, and the day after I was a vaper, so it was the best $74 I've ever spent.

I'm of the opinion that it doesn't matter much what we start out with, or how much we know, as long as we quit smoking and start vaping instead. THEN we can take our time learning all we want.

I had the exact same experience, as unsatisfying as the Blu's were they did get the ball rolling so I'll never regret my first purchase being a Blu starter kit. Also considering I'm still using the Blu batteries to power Ce3 clearomizers it's not really a wasted investment in my book!

In a year from now you'll be saying damn I wish I would have skipped all of this and went straight to this other new thing...

Don't regret where you've been, sit back and enjoy where you're going.

I was going to say something similar, just not quite as eloquently. Trial and error is not wasted money, necessarily, it's the realization that nothing is perfect and, at least me personally? I'm always looking for the next, better thing. It keeps things interesting, frankly.
