Hello, REOfam.

I just ordered one of Rob's modded Igos from the website and I would like to know if there is anything specific I should know that differs from building on the RM2, which is the only rba I have ever used (aside from the Zenesis Standard, but that's a bit different)

I've watched SuperX's videos on building coils on them and it seems to be straight forward, but any tips or tricks you guys have stumbled upon that may be helpful would be appreciated.

Thanks much.

Jif,

These style attys are pretty straight forward. Just the basic principals to remember:

Coil out by edge of deck.

Coil centered on airhole in the vertical plane and raise it incrementally if you crave more TH. Push it down a little to reduce TH.

Coil centered on airhole horizontally.

Short wick tails.

That's about all I can think of bro :)

Why didn't I think of that??? I was going to say that the air hole is a little low, and when you squonk, tip it so the air hole is sort of up. I get some leaking through the air hole if I'm not thinking about it. Never thought of raising the cap. Pretty cool Mr. X. Thanks! :)

I do like this little atty, I coil the same as the RM2 pretty much.

Yes, you could raise the cap :) but I was actually suggesting to raise the coil to increase TH. :). If you raise the cap and find that you need more TH, you will have to raise the coil too :)

Thanks, Russ.

I think the only difference I will notice right away is having the two posts close to each other versus spaced out like on the RM2.

Jif, the close posts are sweet because you will find that the holes are right about where most coils end :)

I cannot view your picture, nor could I view any of your fat lady pictures due to some annoying thing on my work PC. I will look when I get home. I DO hear what you are saying, though about the posts being the same width as the coil. I understand ya. thanks, pal.

DUH! Just looked at this thread on my phone and saw the picture perfectly. thanks again. Looking forward to having a second atty to build on while vaping the other. Thus far, any time I wanted to tinker or wrap different coils to try them out, I would have to go without vaping the whole time.

Looks like the deck on the cyclone, I like it. My only complaint with the Rm2 is the wide spacing of the posts, I like a tail at least as long as the coil. With the Rm2 I had kinked tails (dual coil on a rm2 will put hair on your peaches either through throat hit or sheer aggravation. When I run out of cyclones I will try the Reo modded igo.

There really isn't much difference at all between the Igo-bf and the cyclone bases. They are the same size and all, you can put a cyclone cap on the igo and vise versa. The main difference is the volume/shape of the cap. Personally I like the Igo better because it has a smaller chamber which is great for single coils.

I'm excited to get this.....hopefully before Memorial Day weekend or else I will be waiting until Tuesday, which is back to work time. I'd love to run it on Saturday at the BBQ I am having.

I ordered it Tuesday morning, so I sure hope it went out on Tuesday which I believe is a shipping day for the Modmaster. I haven't gotten a ship notice though :( Come on, baby!!

Speaking for me, by the time the liquid from the end of the tail gets to the coil it's just not an enjoyable vape... It's just not as fresh and tastes very muted...

You know, honestly, I never considered that, good point...I just remember back when I used ekowool with just a little nub of a tail laying on the deck...running a .4 - .3 coil I was cooking off the juice so fast I just started to add a reserve so I didn't have to squonk per vape (I like a saturated vape and just power through it)...I guess I just carried this over to cotton...I'll have to give the short tail a try again.

Yeah, it was actually Russ that brought this to light for me, as I always ran a long tail on mine. I thought he was crazy when he mentioned it. Funny thing is after he pointed it out to me is when I actually noticed it. It has all worked out for me though because I find myself squonking the grand after 2 hits anyway... I guess that has become the norm. I don't even think about it anymore.
