Ok guys, I went to the local shop. Bought me the first IGO - W the original. 3.0 MM silica wick. 28 kanthal. I have a sigelie zmax v3. For batterys i have a 18650, 2250 mah efest its black in color. I also have a red 18500 ,1100 mah efest battery its red. I think the black one is a 10 amp limit and the red one is a 8 amp limit. Am i correct on those battery amp limits?? i believe i am but its always good to be cautious.

Now, I know I cannot build really low builds because of amp limits on those batterys are not very high. Which is fine. I have an adjustable zmax v3 that should do the trick for me. Obviously my zmax v3 is pulse width modulated ( just thought i would throw that incase that would help you help me)

For screwdrivers for wrapping coils, I have a 1.4 mm, 1.8mm, 2.4mm and a 3.0mm ( Well to be precise here is an example: 1.8m/m. I dont know what the m/m means? anybody know? I think it means millimeter.

I am also going to drill out my igo w 's airholes because they are way to small for a dripper.

I know i will need to use the calculator to check numbers and stuff. anybody recommend a certain calculator for coil building and all the basic nessecitys. i have seen them around before but can't remember the names of them.

Will I be ok on batterys if I build high enough. ? I will only be using this igo w on my zmax right now until i get more money for a mechanical and higher amp limit batterys.

Any good suggestions would be great for me guys. I am new with rebuildables. I have seen millions of videos, but i thought i would get on here and learn even more just to make this experience the best i can get. Thanks for any help guys, it will really be much appreciated. cheers.

I have the same battery and igo-w!

Build a micro coil on a 1/16th drill bit, Shoot for 1.4-1.8 ohm resistance and use cotton for the wick!

I build my coils close to the outer edge lol.

All i have is silica right now for wick. and i have those mm screwdrivers. my other tools are out in the garage, i am going to try to get by with these if i can, so i don't have to go digging around right now for that stuff.

For 1/16" use 1.8mm. 2.4mm is 3/32" (which is what I use and works great).

For your air holes, I would start at 1/16" (1.8mm) and then do it again if you feel like it needs to be bigger. You can always open a hole, you can never make it smaller.
yeah i went about 1.8 to 2. its perfect right now. I definately wont go any bigger because its almost too airy, but it was the smallest bit i had. its fine though. 1.4 ohm build, kanthal 28 guage and cotton.

I am going to try a dual coil build in a couple of days.

For anybody else out there looking at this. I still need some calculators that can tell you how many wraps build what ohm coil. Those are the calculators I am looking for.:D

I would imagine you have no battery worries, assuming your Zmax won't fire if the resistance is too low? You're going to have to keep your coil above the minimum for the mod, probably 1.2 to 1.3 ohms minimum.

Yeah I am sure it has some kind of built in feature like that. Right now im rocking a 1.4 ohm single coil, cotton, 28 guage kanthal. it was like 7 wraps with 28 guage. I checked the watts-volts-amps-ohms calculator and I am getting about 2.5 amps at 3.7 volts. even if I went up a little bit with my volts I still dont see me going over 8 amps

I don't think the ZMax will let you go over 4 or 5 amps, so you're fine there. The amp limits you stated for your batteries are most likely correct as well. You could probably get decent performance out of a dual coil if you built it with 30 gauge to about 1.3 ohms total and turned up the ZMax all the way. A similar setup with 28 gauge might not heat up enough and would probably respond slowly.

It sounds like you are well on your way to figuring it all out!
