Sorry, trying to get a picture file from my phone to upload. It took me a couple of different tries to get the perfect wick for the quad coil build I have on it. NiCr 80,24ga 10 wraps each. 4.0 mm bit. When the wick is wet it hangs to just above where the bottom connection screw (female end) is on the deck. Makes screwing it on and off a little easier.
As for the wicks being too long causing problems... I thought I noticed that when I had them long, as little cutting as I had to after getting through the coil, once the tank was half full an air bubble stayed around the top area of the wicks, unless I continued to tip the box back and forth to get a rush of juice to move the air bubble, a sufficient amount of juice wasn't getting up to my top coils.
So far shorter wicks, granted slightly less dense than the previously mentioned ones, has done the trick.
I have rayon wicking material on order, I will let you know how that works out
