Hi guys got the rdta box Friday wicked in a hurry and it worked fine. I can't remember how far I brought the wicks down but yesterday tried again brought all the wicks down to the bottom and was getting dry hits. Not as flavorful please help thanks so much!

You just have to get the wicks barley in the tank make sure they are fluffed at the ends. Its not as cut and dry as with any of the RDTA Ijoy tanks since there is no tank to cut along. I just cut it so it barely dips below where the ring will be and so far so good.

Sorry, trying to get a picture file from my phone to upload. It took me a couple of different tries to get the perfect wick for the quad coil build I have on it. NiCr 80,24ga 10 wraps each. 4.0 mm bit. When the wick is wet it hangs to just above where the bottom connection screw (female end) is on the deck. Makes screwing it on and off a little easier.

As for the wicks being too long causing problems... I thought I noticed that when I had them long, as little cutting as I had to after getting through the coil, once the tank was half full an air bubble stayed around the top area of the wicks, unless I continued to tip the box back and forth to get a rush of juice to move the air bubble, a sufficient amount of juice wasn't getting up to my top coils.

So far shorter wicks, granted slightly less dense than the previously mentioned ones, has done the trick.

I have rayon wicking material on order, I will let you know how that works out

I am really liking my experience with this so far, what kind of builds have you all been setting up on it? And have you had a chance to try out some of the other decks?

I had the combo and ordered the box with the classic (6.9ml) rdta. So far I still prefer the 'clamp style' deck that came with the combo.

I agree I like the combo clamp style deck better. I will be swapping that in the RDTA Box as soon as my new OBS engine shows up so I can stop using the combo. I seem to like the Limitless plus just a bit better but I have it in red and that won't be matchy on my Boss box. So far I just have a simple round wire ss316l build in my RDTA Box I was having a few issues early on with it and didn't want to waste nice coils on it until I knew it was working. Going to throw some simple claptons in the clamp deck when I swap it over.

Right now I have fused 26/34 ss Clapton's on mine. Set to hard only at around 65 watts and it does fine.
Not really chasing clouds or I would throw more power at it. Flavor is better than the 26 ss spaced I had in it last.
On the rayon note I never got it wicking just right and it would burn in the coil. And since I am so patient I gave up lol, may go back and try when I can play with it more. So old school Japanese pads for me.

Sounds good, thanks for the ideas. The quad coil set up takes double the wattage if I don't want long ramp up time. I went for the clouds first and am pretty satisfied, planning to retool to figure out best taste build yet, I was convinced the rayon would help with that but, waiting on usps... I take it you haven't had the same problem with spit back? Or do you use the 510 drip tip adapter?

If you haven't got the combo or a previous ijoy limitless rdta, I don't remember if the box came with a 510 adapter...

No adapter. I rarely get spit back unless the coils are super saturated, like first thing in the morning. Overall I have found wicking through the coil itself helps control the spit back. Or I could just be lucky, and if it matters I diy and don't do less than 70vg.

Agreed, I turned down my wattage and still got spit in the morning, used the 510 on my drive to work and was able to switch the 510 out. Hasn't been a problem since, good observations! Thanks!

Okay, I was having a problem getting the same flavor production out of the box vs my other RDAs.

I have to say that the rayon wicks helped (I got mine on ebay "Infinite wicks - Premium rayon vape cotton". I am not sure the type that was previously mentioned but the rayon with the cotton consistency (vs the long straight strands used in fabrics). This stuff wicked like a charm and added some flavor BUT, I was still not satisfied.

I got into making DIY NETs and the flavor I was getting while testing each batch on the RDA did not follow through in the box. I was using a quad NiCr coil build (26 ga), switched to a dual coil build with same material, tried wrapping the NiCr, FINALLY, I have reached the flavor production using 20ga Kanthal wrapped (spaced) in 28ga stainless (5wraps spaces out between the velocity posts perfectly).

Using the combo topper at the moment but will experiment versus the one the box came with. Came out to approximately .11 ohms, currently running at 80 watts. ...... and satisfied with the cloud plus flavor combo.

ALMOST FORGOT, no spit back issues either.
