iken 510 gold question

ive really only used boge up til now. ive got some iken 510 gold cartos and i notice when i take off the little white plug there is a silicone plug under it next to the batting. why is this there? i removed it to fill the carto then replaced it and popped on a drip tip. the draw is good but kinda stiff. should i just remove the silicone piece too?
is this silicone piece in the fusion too?

It is not present in the Fusion. It's kinda like a splash guard. Some cartos have it, some have the cutout/design in the white top cap, others just have a white top cap. It's not completely necessary, especially when using a drip tip.

Like Loftie stated it acts as a splash guard. It is also a spacer to prevent the cap from going in to far. Totally useless when folks use a DT, most just toss it on first refil. I believe the tightness of the draw is caused by the squishing although slight of the batting.

Yes it is. But... if the drip tip compresses the batting, it will also tighten up the draw. As previously stated most dispose of this seal on first fill Hope that clarifies what was previously posted.

ok , pulled the silicone thing out, draw is still tight as designed but not as tight. it did give a nice hit either way with a slow long draw

Slow and long is how we should be vaping. The only atty that is fast and hard by design is the HH357 that I know of.
