As a pretty much variable vaper I hardly ever use a regular pv anymore. Today I was getting a 510 I had laying around charged and ready to give to a friend of mine. I bought some of Ikens 510 cartomizers, the gold ones and after using the Megas, the fusions and the Drip tip carto the 510 gold wasn't performing as well for me. I thought I need to put some cartomizers in with this 510 I was giving and thought why not these 510 gold ones. I was done charging the first battery and I put the 510 gold on it to try it out. If I give someone something I don't want it to be something that's no good. Now the one I put on was the same 510 gold carto I was using before and not happy with, anyway I took a puff and I was amazed. The little 510 was giving my variable a run for the money. The vapor was great as was the throat hit and taste. I continued vaping on this 510 for the rest of the day and I've come to believe this is a great cartomizer in the right environment. I would recommend these 510 gold cartos to anybody.

Hmmm.... Hate to be the one to poop in the punch bowl here..... (hee hee, I love that expression), but I just got 15 of these gold ones 'cuz Isaac was out of everything else and my experience with these latest ones hasn't been so stellar. On the 5V GLV they taste really hot. Like they're dry even though I've got them as full as possible. Same thing on the Buzz all the way down to 4.2 volts. They're not harsh on a Riva battery but there's little flavor and no TH. They seem to soak up the juice exceedingly slow. I wonder if this batch isn't wicking properly. I've only broke out 3 of the 15 I bought but those 3 have all been the same. I've bought these before and liked them fine but these, so far.... I don't know.

FWIW I only use cartos at 3.7V, right from the beginning. I am talking very early beginning with Isaac. Although he enjoyed them at HV, I couldn't still can't for the love of God understand why. As a BETA I have to put things through their paces. Some have had success with them at HV, it has not been my experience. Perhaps it is our vaping style I do not know.

I watched GrimmGreen taking 5-7 sec drags on cartos at 6V. I do not know how he does it, honestly?

I have mad respect for your expertise and the honesty of your opinions Switched, but I DO use cartos at a higher voltage than 3.7. I haven't run one that performs worth a hoot at 6V and never go above 5V with anything below 3Ω. I find that ALL cartos are too hot when you go a little above 10 watts but I've had these before and they've been fine at 5V. I had to dial the Buzz down to nearly 4V with these first 3 cartos and then the flavor, vapor and TH drops off. Then there's the issue of juice absorption. It seems to take an extraordinarily long time for the juice to soak in to the filler on these. They really are acting differently than others I've used. Even other IKV 510 Golds.
I also have mad respect for the efforts Isaac makes to provide quality vaping apparatus. I'm just having trouble using these and felt it was appropriate to mention.

Sorry mist you are having the problem I did but I turned my VV down to 3.7 and I've been vaping on this same carto since yesterday and it's great. Before I didn't care for them. This one was filled along time ago though but I refilled it last night so maybe it's just the first fill that takes awhile to absorb.
Switched you are dead on with your comment about finding an old friend.

Yeah, I just got done discussing things with Isaac and the conclusion we came to was that Switched was probably right. I probably hit those suckers with too much voltage from the onset. I took out a 4th one while I was on the phone with him and juiced it up and screwed it on a Riva batt. It vaped fine at 3.7. They'll probably be good up to 4.2 or 4.3V.
There is still the mystery as to why the first three didn't absorb juice very readily though. We'll just have to wait and see if I run into that with any of the rest of them.
The good news is though, that I've got a batch of 808 megas ordered! I've been waiting for some of those for about a month.

Just a thought. I only got two Gold ones, so my experience is hardly statistically significant, but I'll share it anyway--with the disclaimer that it's based on a very small sample. My first Gold carto worked OK but the draw was very hard and the filling prosess was slow. The second carto was pretty much unvapable--almost no airflow. The filler was wrapped so tightly around the coil that I literally couldn't get any air through it. It burned after just a few very labored puffs. So I took it apart and actually measured the size of the filler--2.1 cm x 5.3 cm. The interesting thing is that the filler in the Drip style carto is about 5 mm taller but 1.3 cm SHORTER than the filler in the Gold carto with the same construction (2.6 cm x 4 cm). I think that the Gold cartos I got were simply overstuffed. I believe that shortening the length of the filler by 1 cm or so might solve all the problems.

I love the loose filler in those DT 510 cartos. Br5495 noticed (in another thread) that "the air holes in the threaded fittings are larger than usual. Most are smaller than a #60 drill bit. The holes in this one are the same as a #58." This fact may also contribute to the wonderful airflow I'm experiencing with the Drip style 510 cartos.

I am glad things are working out for you, and I mean that in all honesty. Vaping is really subjective and well being a fussy vaper I look for purity and performance, right out of the box. That being said...

I was more worried that not unlike other Chinese companies who deliver a great first run, subsequent runs falter and, that we might be facing something similar here e,g get in touch with Isaac.

I know Isaac has worked hard in securing a quality product and an honest distributor, his entire company now relies on quality and consistency, so understandably I was worried. Not for my reputation or anything like that but, were am I going to get my supplies now, if someone is playing a fast one on Isaac.

Once you taste the best, it is damn hard to go back to the rest. :vapor:

I haven't checked yet today to see if these are back in stock or not. I tried to order the other day and out =( So I am on the email list. What is the difference in his, Gold, pink, plat?

Don't know because for these 510s the gold ones are the only ones I've ordered.

Katya, You need to contact Isaac about that I know he would want to know. He wants to know the bad things probably more than the good things so he can address them and come up with a remedy. Good post BTW.
I haven't had any with bad air flow or hard fills yet except the one I left the inner ring in like a dope.

Awesome thread 5Card! LOL I bet your buddy definitely Did not get that cart, huh? Switcher couldn't said it best with "Sometimes old jeans are just sooooooo comfy, holes and all." Man he is definitely soo right on. I Love my beat pair of holey jeans lol. When he mentioned a while back of 901 being my perfect fix, I was differing with that statement with 801 and ever since they been back in, let's just say there are 3 pvs in the dail rotation both of which has LR and HV 901 on them give or take an adapter  Sorry for the OT, Keep on rockin my friend!

Hi Kristen,
Ok, I'll try not to confuse you on this, The spotted Pink was an incredible cartomizer, so I reworked the internals to develop the Gold label, feeling the need for further development for experiencing the Boge cartomizer I wanted to bring out the best from both worlds like a hybrid between the two, the Drip style (Gold V2) was born. With the design and internals of the DT, we may be able to produce the first ever 6V cartomizer. Before the Gold V2 The Platinum was made from Boge, but we felt it could use a little tweaking, carefully though, so we didn't disturb it's true potential.
