Sure... you can use regular carts on them. Generally when you get a 510 atty, it comes with a blank cart without any filler. Just add some filler material (polyfil | foam | ptb) and your favorite liquid. Lot's of vendors (litecigusa for one) sell blank carts in packages of 5, but you really don't need to buy them separately.

True of most attys i think, you get a blank cart. 801 attys are the exception, they generally only come with the whistle tip (black), but not a blank cart (white) which plugs into the whistle tipl.

I would stay away from carts on 1.5 ohm attys, but it's a viable option with 2 ohmers.

2 ohm isn't really much lower than the std 510 resistance (2.3 ohm). I've used plenty of carts with 2 ohmers, albeit with more effective blu-foam filler instead of the stock poly fill. Most people end up foregoing carts altogether in favor of either dripping or some kind of carto or tanker system... but that's largely unrelated to LR usage. Full disclosure... i too have given up on carts and just drip now. Mostly a matter of ease of use, i find dripping less of a hassle then cart filling, but also i like the greater flavor you get with dripping.

Hey Isaac,
If thats the case, I would go with cartomizers for them. Either the LR MEGA 510 which will be available in the next few moments or the Platinum that will be in transit to us in a few days. The LR Mega is taller but lasts Very long. Pop off the top (or add drip tip) add your liquid and done. They're rated at 2.0 and just work wonders so far. Old timers hate to constantly drip as it can be reptilian and and annoying to keep up with. Cartomizers make it as simple as possible and for under 2 bucks, you can't go wrong. Say, if they dry burn accidentally and keep trying to use it, that can be a $8 accident. Look at a cartomizer like an atomizer cartidge hybrid, where they are always joined. Instead of having metal components the cartomizer is made of silk type polyester batting.

My mom is coming March 20th (they live in Germany), so I want to the kit ready for her. I will go into review-shopping mode this coming week. Gonna check out those Platinum's now.

im just wondering because I'm trying to figure out the best ecig for my mom. Pre-filled cartos or carts is the only way she'll switch. Same with my dad. They're oldtimers and will NEVER bother direct dripping or even refilling cartos...

If that's the case, maybe pre-filled cartos is the way to go? But really, smokers are pretty motivated folks when it comes to getting what they need... so i wonder about the "never" thing :)

hahha. No seriously, if it's not convenient it won't work. I know they won't care about taste that much. Convenience is key. Wish Ikenvape was selling some kits..But once I'll figure out what ecig, I'll get the atomizers from Ikenvape.

VM does have a good point, maybe pre-filled cartomizers are indeed the way to go, but again, a little motivation will persuade anyone to reach what they're looking for. I think an Ego r a Riva maybe be a good option because of the long life they offer. Truthfully I would suggest a plain old 510 standard battery or even a Mega battery. You definitely have the time to make an informative and good decision yet. :thumb:

Ugh I know, it's all part of a plan though. Once the Gecko,Mechameleon *cough* Omni-vape is completed and spread out. Then, we'll go into standardized kits Ikv style of course. :D
Really, a prefilled cartomizer doesn't get more convenient. When purchased, they're already prefilled from the manufacture and last for hours before needing a refill.
