Hello!

I'm ashamed to say, that after nearly a year I have backslid to analogs =\

My biggest two issues were:
Every e-liquid I tried tasted like crap (I should clarify that they did so after a long enjoyment of them... not that I can't find good flavors... )
Instantaneous headaches

My questions:

Has anyone experienced an extreme distaste for their favorite e-liquids?

What's up with the headaches? Anyone else had any experience with them?

Some background:

I was previously vaping Boba's bounty, pro-thol from vapor cast. Various pink spot flavors, various fruity flavors from The Vapor Room.

I drink liquids like a fish, I'm positive that I'm not dehydrated.

I generally vape low nicotine levels, between 8 and 12mg.

I use Boge cartos, with various tanks and 510 attys from vapor kings. I've tried various voltages to make sure I wasn't 'over-cooking' my e-liquid.

I need help! I'm so ashamed of backsliding, I feel pretty fail right now. Any advice / help would be awesome.

Thanks!

Headaches are most likely from dehydration. Or an allergy to PG. I have a water bottle I keep with me at all times, and I vape like a fish, too. Man, I feel your pain. I get a bit of heartburn from time to time, probably from ingesting liquid that leaks. Try some VG only juice. I don't know of any offhand that I can recommend, though :(
I hope it works out for you. I have an analog from time to time myself, but I can't finish one anymore. I love the taste of my vape so much more! Lately, it's been Backwoods Brew Casablanca, Malty Toffee (good lord, that #@** is good!), Maple Tobacco, and I just tried their Applewood Tobacco today-love it. It's VG/PG mix, though-if you're having a reaction to the PG, which some people do have (mostly runny noses and dry mouth, not headaches from what I've heard-can't confirm that), you are unfortunately missing out. Try drinking lots of water. Even if it has nothing to do with your vaping issue, it's good for ya'!
Good luck.

Nope. No fail - you're asking the right questions to see if you can get back to vaping, and that's great. How many ecigs have you backslid by macguy, and what size is the battery you're using? I would suggest trying some new high quality vendors - Ahlusion, Heathers Heavenly Vapes and Alice in Vapeland. The Boges have been rogue lately and probably aren't helping you. I don't know what the specific problem is, but there's been a lot of discontent with them. I'd recommend the 650 eGo Twist and kangar clearomizers, you might get a better vape than popping your eyeballs out with carts. And definitely go with a lower VG just to have a go and see how that makes you feel.

Thanks for the responses, its tough to feel like I've overturned such a feat, I was so proud of myself...

I've got a 'lavatube' its not called that, but that's what it is. I've got a bolt, and a couple of really old (my original) ego style batteries. I'll have to check out the Kangars, and the twist... and Backwoods brew... I need to figure out where to locate the Backwoods.

Regarding the headaches, they don't last too long after I stop vaping. They seem to happen as I'm vaping and go away afterw

Thanks for the suggestions, still would like to hear what others have to say about headaches, that's my biggest concern.

What PG/VG ratio do you normally vape? There is a thread called something like "vendors please explain - PG is my worst nightmare" a few pages back about a woman who would get migraines from PG as well as several others. I would go look for you but my computer is too slow. I too have reactions to PG. And from my research, you can build up an intolerance to it over time.

Hi. If the headaches are pretty sudden onset and go away in 1 to 2 hours after you stop vaping, that sounds like some type of allergic reaction to something in your liquids. The question is "What?" Did you try any process of elimination in the last year to try and figure out what triggers it? Changed up the PG/VG ratio to see if that helped or made the headaches worse?

I have a full on PG liquid, that does the same as my (suspected mix, not sure about it actually.. I'll have to investigate) usual stuff.

I was afraid of it being an allergic reaction... that would be bad.

Ive tried both, but I have only been fully successful not vaping at all... that doesn't mean I've given up though, I'm wondering now based on the earlier comment about boges if it is some sort of carto thing. Honestly I only use my atty's when I'm trying out a new e-liquid. I'll try just an atty and dripping for a while and see how that does me.

Thanks for all the suggestions... =D

For one of them it was pretty quick onset... it was during the life of a carto. Then I tried it on a new carto, and same deal. It was SO good for a while though, then blamo... horrid. I thought maybe somehow the bottle I had went bad, so I quickly bought new, and same thing, another new carto, same thing. =\

I'm digging up some new attys I have here somewhere, I'll start some test runs and see if I can find any patterns.

I'm a little lost. Did you mean to say you have been vaping 100 PG stuff? Right there would be the first thing to rule in/rule out. Get a liquid in 100 VG or a 100 VG base and try that. If you have only been vaping 100 PG or very high PG ratio stuff, that right there may be the source of your headaches if you are having a bad reaction to PG.

I'm allergic to it. So much so that my entire vaping exposure to high PG lquids consisted of all of my first four days of vaping. I have had to use 100 VG - or as close as I can get to that - liquids ever since. The good new is, at least to me, that works fine. Since I had so little exposure to vaping high PG stuff, if I'm missing anything I wouldn't even know. If you are having an issue with PG don't fret - 100 VG is a working option.

As far as flavors and taste go... I dunno. I seem to be going through a phase where I find my liquids very uninteresting. Pretty much all of them. This isn't a flavor loss issue where I can't seem to taste them. I still taste them and the are all sort meh. Changing up the voltage hasn't been helping me all that much - believe me I've been all over the "voltage map" trying. You may want to just accept it for a short while and go the flavorless route, That helps some people.

Thanks for the link to the vid, I can see where it could have been the cartos. I'm testing with one of my attys now but it will be a few days before I can tell for sure.

I'm pretty sure the boba's bounty is all VG, and the rest of my stuff is mixed with PG. All of it seemed to be leading rather quickly to headaches. All of it started to taste weird too... it could very well be a carto issue.

Macguy, you have nothing to feel bad about, so exorcise that shame right out. Human beings are extremely complex biological organisms. We have this enormous brain that allows us to do amazing, brilliant things but sometimes seems completely unconnected to our behaviors. The fact that we even got addicted to tobacco cigarettes defies logic. We had to overcome a whole list of negatives to continue smoking to the point of addiction, and even when we are able to stop smoking, we actually CRAVE all those negatives. It's far more than a simple addiction to nicotine.

So cut yourself some slack, don't give up quitting cigarettes, try what's been suggested and give yourself some credit for your efforts to overcome your addiction to analogs.

I started having headaches and figured out it was a combination of the following: 12mg was too strong for me now, bad Boge cartos, PG content in my juices was too high. Switched to SmokTech 1.7 (called Resurrectors at CrystalClearVaping.com) and Vision Vivi Nova tanks. Started to only vape liquids with at least 70% VG content and at 6 MG nic strength. No problems anymore. Try some new juice vendors that are recommended around the forums...I too got sick of my old favorites eventually. Luckily the community is large and there are tons of options in regards to juice. You're not a failure...it's a long road, but be proud that you are trying!
