The amount of eliquid in a bottle is measured in ml (short for milliliter, or one thousanth of a liter). It's a metric measurement. In standard measurement an ounce equals about 15ml.
When nicotine content is stated in 6mg, 12mg, 18mg, and so on it means that each ml of that eliquid contains that many mg of nicotine. So basically the higher the number of mg means more nicotine contained in that liquid. 0mg (zero mg) would mean liquid that has no nicotine. Generally 6mg is light, 12mg is medium, 18mg is strong, and 24mg is extra strong. Most people don't need higher that 24mg but some like to go as high as 36mg. I think 18mg is a good starting point for most people. If it's not doing the trick go higher, if it's too much go lower. Feel free to sample different levels. I like to use 18mg and sometimes 12mg.
