Today is the most ridiculous holiday. Hallmark is excited! Single folks are made to feel unloved and insignificant if they don't have "that special someone" to celebrate with. People's who's "special someones" have died get sad on this day. Yes I feel loved....no, I'm not resentful. I save the sentimental crap for a non-commercialized event.

I know, I know....it's great for newly "in love" people. Although I see more rants about what someone "didn't get" rather than what they "did get". God fobid if they just got a card???? ***gasp**** This is just MY opinion. I know most people love this day.

Plus, they've changed the colors on the software system (that I log on to from home) to red and pink and it's hurting my eyes now.

Ok....off soap box.

Tina,

Don't mean to hi-Jax your thread, 'cause I'm wid ya; albeit fer a diff reason!

V-Day is a commercial endeavor only! Don't get me wrong, I'm all fer capitalism. BUT, just heard dat some folk are pushin' fer a tax break fer our Olympian contestants' medals! REALLY?!?!?

I'd might consider that once our vets are given da same consideration across da board for their LOVE and DEVOTION!

Anyone wanting to celebrate a 'romantic' celebratory day? How 'bout a wedding, engagement or first date anniversary? Or even da first time they got laid...

Wha...? What did I do fer my bride of near 45 years? Da most special moment was when we earlier stepped outside and viewed da rising full moon and relished in our blessings!

For our 'loneliest' here, may you find your 'full moon'...

Since were ranting about Valentines Day, let me share mine. I was told by USPS that a month old vape mail order I was tracking is officially lost. Since I did not opt for insurance, it's just gone. I was expecting a vape mail delivery today, it was missent. However, I big juice order did somehow find it's way to my mailbox this afternoon. When I opened it the 30 ml bottle was perfect, the 100 ml bottle was the wrong nic level, it was 6mg I ordered 12. Now I'm sitting at home watching Bonnie and Clyde with my pet Goldfish. If anyone can beat this Valentines Day I would love to hear it.

Mine sucked the big one. I had to buy my own card so that my 12 year old would have something to give me. :?: Well, that's just great. Don't think I even got a Happy Valentines Day except from my sweet kiddo. Par for the course I guess. I mean, I wouldn't want him to break tradition by actually putting forth any effort whatsoever? Status quo. I'm cranky too.

I'm talking about my hubby putting forth effort...not the kid. I feel so valued......NOT.

Wanna hear mine? From middle school?

So my school sold carnations for people to buy for each other. I was broke and didn't get allowances... whatever,so I couldn't buy anything for my friends. They knew this because I told them upfront. V-day comes around and everyone gets their flowers... but me. Then this girl who was a total b..... said "Where's your flowers?" I burst into tears. I am not a crying type of girl but this was cold and very hurtful. Everyone got some damn flowers but me. That girl got yelled at and I went to the counselors office(in the library), where my spanish teacher was checking out some books for class. She saw that I had been crying and I told her what went down. She left and a few minutes later returned with not one but two carnations. I loved that teacher.

I had to work late on V day and didnt get home til around 10 pm so I missed the whole thing this year. I have been single for almost 2 years and all holidays arent as fun without that special someone. Being a parent never interested me much til I had step children and holidays arent the same without them either. Eventually I will be ready to get back out there and hopefully things will be different this time around.
