Do you mind if I ask how you attach your fabric to the Provari? I like the idea of wrapping it in fabric. I'm thinking fabric glue but isn't that very messy to remove?
Thanks
BTW, loved the pirate one, the eye patch was a nice touch
I wouldn't use use any type of glue. I work with a lot of different adhesives and can't think of one that wouldn't run the risk of getting into the edges of the button or LED screen.
I'm using Scotch/3M double-sided carpet tape. The tack is pretty high, but the adhesive coating isn't thick, so there isn't a residue when removed like there would be with something like duct tape. I have wrapped and rewrapped both of the minis several times and there hasn't been any residue (I was concerned the first time that I might has to use a diluted solvent to get it off, but I didn't).
On the first one (with the mink) I used tiny strips of electrical tape for the accents, but it didn't work very well. The heat from my hand kept warming it up and making it sticky.
Non-stretchy fabric works the best. Pre-cut quilting squares are perfect. The spotted print I've used is 100% cotton; a quarter of a yard goes a very long way.
If you want vinyl, check out shelf paper. I got a clear J-Wrap to play with and it appears to be exactly the same as clear shelf paper. 36 sq. ft. was about $8.00, so there is a lot to practice with. Get "permanent," it isn't. The shelf paper comes in patterns too, so you might find something you like.
