So back in 2009 I was really into vaping and hadn't even touched a cigarette nor did I want one. Fast forward to 2013 and I'm back to a pack a day and wishing I wasn't. It all started going down hill after I decided to order online instead of buying from the vendor at the mall. I got a 901 if I remember correctly (like I said, its been a while). I was pretty happy with it. I was buying liquid and refilling and had no problems. Eventually my atomizer started tasting a little burned so i decided I would order more.
At the time there was a company that seemed reputable that had a flame guy logo on it that looked kinda cool so I bought five of those and a few more batteries. Out of 5 atomizers 3 were DOA and the batteries weren't so great either. They were the auto batteries. I decided to buy more atomizers (I bought from the same company... bad move). They refunded me for the bad atomizers (I paid for shipping) and sent replacements. They quickly went bad and vaping became more and more like a chore. Needless to say, I went back to smoking "analogs". I haven't touched an electronic cigarette since.
Last weekend I went to a bluegrass festival and afterwards there were huge groups of people camping out and playing music. I sat in on same jams and one of the mandolin players was smoking an electronic cigarette. It piqued my interest and we chatted for a bit and now I really want to get back into it for my own health.
My question is this: Where is the technology now a few years later? What types are generally considered more reliable. I'm open to suggestions but what I really do NOT want is a MASSIVE one. I don't mind if its slightly bigger I just don't want to carry around a huge piece of equiptment with me all day. I seem to remember around 2009 puresmoker coming out with some type of screw driver looking thing. I don't want that. I simply want reliablility and portability.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm willing to do my homework on this, I've just been out of the scene so long that I'm not sure which companies are authoratative in 2013. I'm willing to spend a little bit on a starter kit, however, I would rather not spend too much more than $100. I'm not sure if that's considered a lot by todays standards or if the technology has even come too far at all.
I always trusted the opinions of the people on this forum, hence my return. Please help!
ps - If this should have been posted in a different section, I apologize. You're welcome to move it if need be.
