Hey, I just returned as well after falling off the vape wagon. This time I went straight into a mod and its very awsome. With the tanks and all, I am much more happier. Not sooo much fiddling around. Just top off my tanks every once and a while and charge one of two big fat batteries every so often (a 15650 & a 15500). I am very glad to see these improvement after being away for about 2 years. Also found a WTA liquid maker. Very cool. My package should come any day now. This should help as I struggled last time, but still managed to stick with it for about a year. For me, with whats avalaible now, it will be even better. Looking forward to the Zeus. Not as huge like my simple Bolt counterpart the OMG. Also excited to get into a varible voltage mod and RBA's. Lots of new stuff to explore.

Hi John, I started in April '09 too. I loved the auto 901's and 401's when they were working right...even with the leaks. Hands free is a big plus for me.
Picked up analogs in early 2011 because the gadgetry got to be a pain, and I hit that "missing something" wall..
About a year ago, I got on here, and like you saw how much things had changed.

I found a local brick and mortar and picked up an Joye 650 Mah (smallest) EGO-C kit. Soon bought a Twist and a passthrough batt, and clearomizers for it. It uses a tank similar to one of the early cart mods some were doing for the 901. I thought I could deal with the bigger size...650-5.25", passthrough-5.75", twist-6.25" with atomizer and tank. There are now 400Mah minis- <4.75".

Still too big, gotta push a button, didn't get me off analogs. Resurected some old box mods. Tried a couple of disposables. They have improved. More on that later.

Then came the Joye EROLL. Small almost cig size. Under 3.75", think M402. It's auto and light weight so I can vape hands free and mindlessly. It uses a tank like the Ego-c but smaller of course, .5 ml, about like a 901 cart. You refill often but there is no poly to fish around with.
The batt is only 90Mah, but it comes with a slick 1000Mah PCC.

The PCC is smaller than an iphone, fits nicely in my pocket and I don't have to take the eroll apart to charge it! The charging contacts are on the LED end. The Ego-C and Eroll use the same replaceable atomizer head.
From dead it takes about 30 minutes to charge to full, if you use it like a pacifier like I do. If you use it like smoking 1-2 analogs and put it back in the pcc it tops the batt and it's ready to go when you reach for it again.
The PCC lasts most people all day and takes about 3.5 hours to charge.

The kit comes with 2 batteries, but only one cone. So if you buy another cone(<$3) you have 2 devices.
The kits are usually $40-$50. I caught a deal and bought two.
Replacement atomizer heads are usually 5 for $20

Bottom line. The Eroll got me back off analogs!

Disposables have come a long way too. If you really want an analog, pick up an NJOY KING. They are pretty amazing(size, feel, taste, nicotine) but thay don't last long for $8. We are waiting to see what they are going to do.
Some people like the Blu. I don't. I have tried the Mystic and Tsunami, they are OK. The NJOY KING Rocks, but isn't affordable for consistant use.

The Volt mentioned above gets good reviews and I considered getting one before the Eroll came out. Glad I waited.
I don't regret buying the Ego-C. I still use it around the house sometimes, but it wasn't the answer for me.

Good luck, I hope you find what works for you!
+1 if you really want an ecig "look alike". The technology in general has improved vastly, so go for it, but personal taste plays a huge part. Some people are quite happy with these smaller versions, but some need more - throat hit, vapor production, wanna look cool, etc. You really won't go wrong with either one of the look alikes recommended above, or the slightly larger eGo twist or spinner (go ahead & get the VV if you go that route). You may end up upgrading, but most of us that go to bigger mods still use our smaller mods for certain circumstances, emergency backups, or to "pay it foward" by turning someone else on to vaping (they're less intimidating to the un-initiated). And juice! Oh lordy, the millions of options......welcome to the new rabbit hole....

I agree with the Ego Twist kit and some form of clearo (vivi nova or mini nova is my perference) I started out on an eRoll but after about 2 weeks it was time to upgrade so I got a 1000 mah Twist. I love it. I chain vape and it lasts me all day during the week and over 3/4 of the day on a weekend or day off. the Twist+Nova combo has given me 0 issues.
.

This was my first setup and is my wife's current rig. I totally agree with this setup. Small enough for what the op wants and can be had for less than a carton of cigs usually.

Diameter is what I was talking about and it is not false.

About your dribble, maybe you missed my point, "I would rather give recommendations based on what the OP asked for". I'm not forcing him to waste money by answering his question instead of ignoring it and recommending what he didn't ask for.

Vamo = cig-a-like size? Really?

Other than that; Loose the attitude and you might come off as respectable.

It's quite clear, when you can not refute the fact that the Vamo has several significant advantages over the twist, your course of action is to ignore/not answer those points and instead disparagingly attack the poster. Your personal attacks are immature and do not deserve respect.

alright u2, break it up...we're all family, and as you both know, you BOTH have valid points...somehow this got into a "who's gotta bigger pecker war"

my 2 cents, while I'm a noob and prolly shouldn't jump in between y'alls expert discussion, you might find what I havta say rellivent...I'm a 20 year 1 1/2 PAD, and a month ago ordered a V2 kit(something that John the OP really liked), not knowing anything about e-gigs or this forum I loved it...great flavor, more "smoke" than a cig, felt like a cig, within 2 weeks of that I quit cigs alltogether! In that 2 weeks I found this forum and literally read everything for 4-10 hours a day (I'm unemployed at the moment). I now understand a decent amount abbout the vape world...

after reading the forum I knew I wanted to upgrade and really get into this...my research lead me to 2 choices...#1 get a 1300 mah vv spinner and also a 1000 mah Twist vv (both ego and 510 styles, same charger too) or try a more advanced Vamo. I went with option #1...very glad I did, I'm having a blast using mini nova's and T3's, mixing different voltages with differentt ohm heads & liquids, cleaning & tweaking those 2 clearos/tanks (especially the T3, .......s like to leak and gurgle), I've had almost 2 weeks with all my new hardware and am more than content...ideally I'll rock this fairly noobie set up for a couple years (I enjoying saving considerable $ vs. smoking), but who knows, I very well may be upgrading in one week....and what to? yes, The VAMO!...seems like a great next step, I'll enjoy even more mah, tanks, and best of all the VW....

with all that being said, I'm glad in the order I've done thus far, and assume there are/were MANY out there like me. I invested $60 for that spinner & twist & usb charger (already had the usb to wall from V2) $60 is nothing and I'm broke/unemployed...another great thing is now I have my V2's to use away from home and/or as backups! If I ever do go with the Vamo, I'll have my spinner & twist for backups...

so, as an unbiased brother to you both (wv2win & ehuman), and after considering the OP's original question I agree w/ ehuman, BUT wv2win has obviously got some great points about the Vamo, and perhaps if I'd jumped from V2 crap to the vamo I'd be just as happy, maybe even happier, I dunno, but what I do know is that what I did do worked perfect for me! AND ALL THX TO wv2win, ehuman, AND ALL U OTHER EXPERIENCED BROTHERS HERE AT ECF!

now grab a beer u 2 .......s and start arguing over APV's :toast:

So I went ahead and bought some ego twist batteries, a charger, some liquid, a couple of 2ml mini nova tanks with a few extra heads and a couple thread covers. I spent a bit more than I was hoping to but if it gets me off of cigarettes it will be worth it.

The ordering process was pretty frustrating as no single company seemed to have all the parts I was after.

How long can I expect the heads to last on the nova?

What a tool. I would have actually recommended a vamo had he not said he wanted to keep it kind of small. Nobody in this thread said a twist was better than a vamo functionally. Function wasn't all of the OPs requirements. Read up, your first shot out of the gate was an attack on my recommendation of a twist. If you want to move up from cig size but don't want a monster sized PV, it works.
Grow up and check your attitude.

Again, the vamo is a decent mod but it is not the answer to every question, especially when someone is still struggling with PV size. (<--- You took THAT as an attack? I'd hate to have to hear you cry when a real one comes your way.)
