I'm Back! And coughing?

Quit smoking last March, put down my vaping gear last August. Gave it all away to some newbies, then......
I had a cigar in Feb., then another. Yada yada, I'm smoking. I went and bought the same setup as before, ego batt's-2 carto tanks, plus a spiffy Protank mini. Problem is that when I inhale the vape, it makes me cough. It is not lingering, and I never had that problem before. Same flavors from Mt. Baker. What gives?

Did you breathe/steep the juice(s) when you received them? Mt. Baker Vapors make them for you within hours of placing your order, which means when you receive them, they need to breathe (uncapped) for around 48-72 hours, and then steep (capped) for a couple of weeks. Steeping should be done longer for tobacco flavors, mocha/café flavors, and perhaps some of the others. I'm starting to use a rule for myself of steeping darker colored juices for four weeks, while two weeks works fine for the lighter colored (or clear) ones.

Harsh flavors and throat hits mellow out during the breathing & steeping process.

If that makes little or no difference for your coughing, then try getting e-juice with a lower PG/VG ratio. 30% PG, 70% VG may make a world of difference for you. Also, diluting the juices with some distilled water may help, if the breathing/steeping doesn't do it.

I have been vaping since early January, mostly sub-ohm and pretty harsh flavors such as cinnamon red hot. I don't like anything that doesn't give me a lot of flavor. I bought some juice from Mt. Baker Vapor....holy $*@!. I can't take more than half a hit and I'm basically on my knees coughing.

Short version: I can't take Mt. Baker Vapor juices.

I've never had a problem with Mt. Baker's juices myself, BUT I will tell you that my boss at the vape shop where I work can't handle them at all. She says they give her killer stomach aches. I would guess, since you've been smoking cigars and analogs, your body is once again getting used to not having all of that awful smoke in your lungs. But some vapers do experience long-term issues with coughing (like those mentioned above).

It could be possible that you're taking too harsh a drag on your eGo. People try to smoke e-cigs as if they were cigarettes at times, just because that's what they're used to, and soon find themselves hacking because of it. Try taking smaller, shorter puffs.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help. That's just my two cents.

I'm in 9 months, lost my cough after a week and then it came back after 7 months. Wish I knew the answer.

My Dr. told me that it can take several months for the cells in the airway to regrow to the proper size/shape and become effective again. Vaping is still an irratant to the system ( altho not as severe as smoking). I still have the "clear the throat" cough ( the U-huugh) medium to lite gunk and Ive been vaping for about a year now... at least its not the throat ripping breaking the ribs hacking till Im blue in the face cough....

It is my opinion, just an unscientific opinion, that higher VG causes greater lung congestion which may or may not be the reason for your coughing. I know it clogs me up anyway.

Kind of agreed with you..i started to have lung congestion after i only vape vg 100%..now have change back to pg and never have this problem again..

OK, a little more info from me. I vaped for over a year, using MVB juice. I was previously mtw4shore on the forum. I have had my gear for a month now, and my first order was with My Vapor Store. I got the batt and 2 carto tanks, along with 15 ml of their grape. Cough, cough. I have 4 flavors from MVB (50/50), and the last of my grape from MVS on three different delivery systems. COugh, cough. It must just be a break in period. I had no coughing issues before from any juice I tried before, and I also loved the red hot, tobacco, lemon, etc. from all over. I smoked for 25 years before quitting last year. VAPING WORKS!
