I'm becoming experienced and meed brand recommendations for moving on to a better product

My first purchases were disposables to try it out. Then I got a reusable not really knowing what I was doing (Hadn't found this forum) and just went with one of Google's top results. One of the atomizers burned out the first day. It did produce lots of thick vapor while it lasted. A different brand seems very reliable, but doesn't allow me to keep chain-vaping (Probably why it's so reliable). I find I'm refilling it constantly, a few times a day.

I'm looking for a brand that meets the following criteria. The atomizer needs to last at least a month, preferably a few months. I'm okay with eventually buying a new atomizer I don't expect it to last forever and a new atomizer every 1-2 months is an acceptable expense. Refilling works at home but I don't really want to have to deal with refilling it a few times at a bar or anything like that - I need something that lasts a while between e-liquid refills. It also needs to produce a thick, heavy cloud of vapor. And it needs to keep going as long as I keep puffing on it, assuming of course it's not completely out of liquid in which case I understand it actually should shut off to avoid burning out the atomizer or making it the atomizer pick up a burnt taste. Nobody's ever died from an e-cig overdose so really a product should only shut off to protect the atomizer from overheating, not to stop me from consuming too much nicotine, I know when to stop vaping.

I figured it's better to list criteria for what I want from the product and my disappointments with other products, rather than simply asking "what is the best brand". Based on these criteria what brand should I consider, and how does it meet each of these criteria?

Fred, no two Attys are the same, even two of the same kind, some will last you a week and some months, they have been improving it seems though, if you want the best taste there is nothing like dripping with a drip tip, but you want longevity so a tank system like the Ego T might do you but the flavor isn't as sharp, there are also some good cartos at Ikenvape.com his v2 gold is superb and Boge cartos are pretty good to so you wont have to drip or fill as much, if your like the rest of us get ready to flip your credit card out a few times trying different combos, the Ego 1000mAh Batt is a wise choice, now what you put on it is another thing, LR Atty with that drip tip is a winner, the Ego-T is just OK I would start with those two

Hi and welcome to ecf.
first vapor is produced from vg- which is in the ejuice. It is not necessarily producted by the battery. If you want a battery to last all day -around 12 hrs you can look at an eGo 900. I chain vape also. But I also like lots of different flavors so I have a few to keep me happy. Maybe you should pre-fill a few cartomizers to last all day also. Liberty-flights has the best prices on hardware and offers a 20% discount with code ecf.
Hope this helpls

I haven't really run into any battery problems yet, and haven't really moved on to different flavors yet, still going with the basic tobacco flavor. Prefilling cartomizers is a good idea. I tried this with one brand but after a few uses it started to taste burnt so I stopped using them and will probably end up throwing them out. I don't think they were meant to be refilled at all. Maybe a cartomizer that's designed to be refillable would be something else that would be a good feature to look for.

Liberty-flight has good empty Boge cartomizers. some can last a week with heavy vaping before discarding or cleaning. Burnt plasic? Sounds like you are letting them get way too hot. Maybe you should have a couple going and alternate them so when you feel the hot switch to the other one giving that one a rest. And you should always be sure they have enough liquid in them. Believe it or not that works.

How long are you at the bar?

I say use cartomizers - forget attys. Unless you get an Ego-T an atty is not going to do what you want. Carts used with attys need to be frequently topped off. Vape as a 2-piece with a cartomizer - they hold more juice, you can put a 2-3 spare cartos in your pocket with carto condoms on and when one gets light vapor or slightly dry in a way that tilting the ecig carto down for 5 seconds won't fix, switch to another carto. Then refill them at home. Don't run them dry unless you are rich and can afford to throw them out without reuse. If you keep cartos damp with juice you should be able to get 4-7 days or more out of each.

The choices in a slim format (and my hour amounts are for light to moderate vaping)

510 - 180mah, 2-3 hours
510 mega xl - 280mah, 3-5 hours
KR808D-1 aka Vapor4Life (has the most prefilled cartos) - shorty 180mah, standard 280mah and 120mm long, xl 380mah but xl do not fit in the PCC

And in a thicker battery format

Ego or Riva 510 (fat battery models) 650mah+ for 6-8+ hours of charge
Ego-T - special tank atty and a tank of juice

I cannot vouch for the longevity of any atty - there are no guarantees. You buy spares and take care of your attys. If you use cartomizers instead, 4-7 days or maybe more out of each carto (I got longer with a Boge soft-cap carto for 510)

The KR8 is a dedicated 2-piece (but can use DSE901 atty w/ no adapter, 510 w/ adapter)

510 comes as a 3-piece, you would buy blank cartomizers separately. A very small selection of filled cartomizers are available for 510.

To start I recommend soft-cap cartomizers. For 510 the Boge standard resistance (not LR) blank ones are nice. Vapor4Life cartos for KR8 are soft cap and you can find blanks there and elsewhere. With Ego/Riva you can also use LR cartos for a harder hotter hit.

For more advanced carto use - there are reservoir cartos that require a particular syringe for filling (what syringe depends on the carto)

Whatever you get, you will be adding juice unless you are rich.

You sound a lot like I did when I started. I have found that my joye ego battery with joye cartomizers from cignot are the very best choice. I buy prefilled cartos with 18 mg of mbl for when I am out and don't want to refill. I use those same cartomizers at home but i refill them with joye pg juices (i use mostly menthol but also the mbl flavor too).

It is the least cumbersome system that I have tried so far. I have a USB pass thru that I use when I am at home as I use my computer a lot and I dont have to worry about draining a battery.

I would have to agree with dormouse but After spending thousands of dollars on equipment, atties, cartos, juices, drip tips, mods, etc. (I have 3 draws full of stuff) I always seem to get most use from the ego 510 style batteries. When I am home I use a 5 volt box mod & puresmoker Prod V3 with a MAP tank from clouds of vapor. But when I go to work or out at night I take 2 ego style batts(Riva from liberty flights) and 2 tank atties & a few filled tanks. Batteries always hold a charge for about a day(900-1000 mah rating) chain vaping.
Hope this helps
