Why should I care about vapor production?

I like a combination - flavor, th and vapor. I like the vapor because it shows me how well my gear is working, seems to help "feeling" the vapor when I blow it out, and obviously shows me where to aim my nose to catch some escaped vapor on the inhale.

As for ecig test videos etc, if a particular tester uses the same pg/vg juice for each test then the visible vapor shows how big a hit you get off a particular ecig.

Bottom line though - you do care about vapor production. You just don't care how visible or persistent the vapor is. If an ecig does not have good vapor production because it's too weak or has a crappy atomizer or bad airflow, you probably won't get good flavor or a good hit.

You can get great throat hit with very little vapor. If you have only used small battery PV's, then there is no way to realize this. If you have the right level of nic and a good 5 volt or VV PV, it can give a great throat hit with very little vapor.

I value throat hit and flavor over vapor. To me, vapor is a nuisance. Sure it looks cool and all, but if I'm blowing out giant clouds of the stuff in my apartment, IT WILL make my apartment smell like the juice. It doesn't "go away in five seconds"...it lingers around and the smell sticks, especially if it's something really sweet. Plus, tons of vapor make it difficult vaping in places where you shouldn't be.

In short, it's all about what you desire.

I have been vaping for about 3 months now and it may be mental, but I feel like I get more flavor with more vapor? When I see it, I just think it triggers something that also allows me to taste it. Throat hit just makes me cough, and I don't like that at all. I like tons of vapor along with tons of flavor ... no TH for me though!

I don't care about big vapor clouds or even flavor, at least until my taste buds adjust to no analogs and I can actually taste things again. I just want the nicotine and TH for now. Then I'll worry about flavor, if I show any concern for vapor at all it will just be so i know everything is working properly.

I never cared much about throat hit, just visible vapor and taste. If there's no taste, there's no satisfaction. Sometimes I like lots of vapor, but not when I'm out and stealth vaping. I was a Carlton smoker for years, then they went up to $40 a carton. I changed to Doral Ultra Lights and got used to light exhale and TH.
