I'm confused about the Kayfuns?

Lite Plus and Lite Plus V2 have airflow control and a bottom fill port that is plugged by a screw.

Lite Plus V2 has 2 airflow adjustment screws on the bottom, lite plus had one, some lite plus clones had the adjustment on the sides.

Russians, 3.1 and first Kayfun has a fill valve I never could get the hang of, others swear by them.

Kayfun 3.1 had a separate bottom that screws off that was a catch cup for excess wicking or some such.

The Kayfun lite was a shorter version without the catch cup and no airflow adjustment.

Kayfun Nano is a kit that shortens the overall height of your Kayfun (in addition to juice capacity)

There is an actual Kayfun Nano that is sold, not as a kit, but as an actual whole tank atomizer. It's not an original kayfun though, just a clone. The Kayfun nano is a clone of a Kayfun Lite Plus with the Nano kit. (For the OP's benefit)

I have the Kayfun Nano of this type. It's worked flawlessly without leaking, but even with the airflow wide open, it's just barely loose enough to lung hit. Could afford to be a little looser, considering it's adjustable.

Really they all are good devices, it just depends on what you are looking for size wise and building the setup to suit your "vaping style".

I have a couple of the kayfun lite plus clones and if I build with a single cotton wick they whistle and are pretty airy, but if I build them with the cotton nest method they don't, but they have a tighter draw.

I like the adjustably of the lite plus and the v2, others don't, but I find it helps when adjusting the setup for different liquid viscosities.

I learn something new everyday. Thanks for the heads up.

I beg to differ the 3.1's do have adjustable airflow unlike the lite+ and v2 the airflow adjustment is on the side not the bottom.

OK, I stand corrected.

The one I had didn't, but it was also a clone.

Never could get the fill valve to work right and chunked it after I got tired of top filling it.

I'm fairly new to vaping, and I'm not familiar with the cotton nest method of building. Could you please enlighten me?

Also, I don't do lung hits and prefer a little bit of resistance in the draw but not real tigh (I'm using a Kanger Protank Mini and that's the type of draw that I'm used to). I don't give a hoot about throat hit, but definately want a flavor boost if I can get one. And a smaller tank is ok with me too, I don't really use all that much e-liquid in a day and I have to switch between flavors or I lose the flavor all together.

Thanks for that, I was looking it up to share.

I did this build for the first time a few days ago and I'm really enjoying it.

OP, I'm not sure if a Kayfun is the right fit for you if you are wanting to swap flavors, unless you buy several of them to have one for each flavor.

You might want to look into rebuildable dripping atomizers.

Not my thing, but there are plenty of people here that enjoy them and have made building their coils and wicks into an art form of it's own.

I'd rather not use a dripper - more interested in a tank system. I have more than one tank ready at all times & I switch between them throughout the day. My tongue has had a flavor issue since I gave up smoking. I'm still hoping it goes away but since it's been nearly 5 months I'm kind of afraid I'm going to be stuck with the issue. This is why I'd like to find something that carries a flavor punch.

Don't be too discouraged... Depending on how much/how long you smoked, it can take quite some time for the taste buds to completely heal. I went for the high flavor juices for like a year before I started noticing I could go lower on the flavor and still enjoy them.

3.1 has by far the best airflow of them all and a without whistling, but does have drip reservoir below the deck that makes it a little taller.
I own at least one of each of the above and a Russian 91%.
They are all good mind you, but I find myself vaping from the 3.1's more than any others.

How do you fill your 3.1? I broke a needle in the port on mine, but have no desire to fill it any on the way, is there a special bottle to but? I prefer the terminals on the 3.1 and want to stick with it so I ordered a new base.

My EHPro Kayfun 3.1 has an adjustable air flow with an allen screw on the side of the base next to the air duct. It's a good vape, but could use a little more air flow. I keep mine wide open and it's not anything near the flow on my Nautilus on the largest hole setting. Kayfun on the highest air setting is just about right to keep PG juice fed into the coil at about the right rate and produce good clouds.

The benefit of Kayfun is that the coil will last weeks or longer if you are careful when replacing the wick every two or three days. You buy a 100' roll of Kanthal for $7 and a $3 bag of organic cotton and you are set for a year or more. With Nautilus and Kanger Aerotank Mega there's expensive coils to buy if you can't recoil your own. Kayfun is easier to coil and wick changes are a snap.

With a good coil head the Nautilus and Aerotank Mega are good vapes and maybe equal to the Kayfun. Kayfun is cheaper once you buy one and don't have to pay $1.50 to $3 ever two or three days for a new head. I know that heads are better lately, but Nautilus is $15 for a box of 5. You can buy two rolls of Kanthal and a bag of organic cotton for that or a couple bucks more.

I smoked for over 40 years in the area of a pack to a pack and a half or so a day, so I'm sure I did some damage to my taste buds. I know it'll take a while to heal all the damage that I caused by smoking. Still frustrating some days, especially on those days that I lose the flavor all together. I know, this too shall pass, but frustrating none the less.

I can't thank everyone on this forum enough for sharing their own experiences and knowledge. If I hadn't found this forum 5 months ago I probably wouldn't have continued and gone back to smoking. I had vaper's tongue/mouth/fatigue so bad for more than 2 months. My tongue was numb and kind of sore almost all the time and I tasted almost nothing during that time. I read more here and asked questions (thank you all for your patience with my ignorant questions) and I decided to see it through. Now my tongue and flavor issues come and go instead of being constant IF i keep several different flavors ready to go. I'm making progress!

I always top fill mine, that's the only part about the 3.1 I don't like the check valve fill port and some have reported them leaking over time.
But there again even the Russian 91% and lite because of the countersunk fill screw can seep juice over time.
The perfect combination would be to remove the side filling from the 3.1 relocate it to the bottom with an o-ring screw like the v2 or better yet move the fill port to the top cap somehow. then you would have the perfect rebuildable tank with awesome whistle free airflow.

I fill mine thru the top. no problems.. easier than using that fill port that never wants to work.. after I fill mine thru the top i turn it upside down and blow good and hard through the drip tip. Some juice will come out of the air hole when you do this.. I wipe it off and all is well from there on out.. real easy to do..
