Went to my poker game last night... last week wasn't so bad because there wasn't a big turn out. Last night though we had a garage full of people smoking like chimneys. Bleh!!!

I haven't really had a morning cough at all since I started vaping and this morning I did. So much smoke .. geez!!! When I came home I reeked! My eyes were burning.

I always hated the fact that when people quit smoking they would get all crabby at smokers. I can totally see where they're coming from though. I've quit for my health and being surrounded by smoke last night seemed to make my effort moot. Besides the fact it was just gross!!! lol

I couldn't stand myself when I got home... had to jump right in the shower. I had cooties 8-o

It's funny, I quit once for about a year and picked them back when we hired a co-worker who smoked. It smelled so good I took one drag and had a pack in my pocket that afternoon. I used to think people got crabby because it was so tempting. Now however I don't care for the smell at all. I'm not sure if the change is me or that I'm quitting with an e-cig. I think there may be more than one reason for some not liking smokers close to you. Temptation and dislike.

Exactly the same for me - I quit for about a year back in '96 after being hospitalized for a week with pneumonia (delightful experience). But I had a difficult time being around smokers - it still smelled good, and I felt like I was being "deprived" of something. When I finally caved in and had one at a party, it tasted great. This time around, they reek, and I don't feel like I'm missing anything nor have any desire to light one up.

During the holidays, I was at a party and asked a friend for a cigarette. I proceeded to smoke the entire cig right down to the filter and enjoyed it immensely. Surprisingly enough, I didn't have to run out and buy my own pack afterwards! (Voila! I guess vaping really IS working for me.)

Now, whenever I pass by people who are smoking, it really does stink. (But I knew they smelled awful even when I was smoking them myself...it just didn't smell bad enough to make me stop. LOL)

With that being said, I have PROMISED MYSELF two things:

1) I will NEVER take up smoking again. EVER.
2) I will not become one of those self-righteous former smokers. NEVER.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Amen. ;)

ditto. i am definitely enjoying not stinking/etc. myself, and noticing all the ugh-gunk-stink about smoking, but i think i'll be a better example for smokers, too (and hopefully therefore better introduce them to vaping ;) ) by not being intolerant.

Was just out in my garage puttering around and kept smelling something. Already washed out the ashtray I kept out there but will keep for family to use - of course in the garage not in the house. Finally located the smell. It was my trash can with all the old cigarette butts in it and it reeked! Wow, must be getting my smeller back. :D

CritterBuddy, I put all 3 of my ashtrays in the garage the day I got my V4L kit. Since then, every time I went into the garage I could smell them. I just today threw them all out and emptied the wastebaskets out there. I think that was the last of "the evidence."

Now if I can just paint and recarpet, my house might smell fresh again :)

Several months ago I was standing in side at the grocery store. I was in front of a woman with a child. The little kid piped up.."what is that smell!"8-o I glanced around to see her little wrinkled up face staring at the guy behind her! I could smell the cigarette smell too..but mostly I was glad the kid wasn't looking at ME!:w00t:

I knew I smelled of smoke and hated it. Our house smelled of smoke and our clothes smelled of smoke. We have repainted and carpeted our entire house and I am slowly removing the older clothes. My sense of smell came back around a full month of vaping. I am still dealing with taste but there are many things that do taste different now.
