Hi my fellow ECFrs!! Hope all is well :D

I need to pick your ideas on something..

I am happy with my Ego tank setup, it does the job well and its great for out and about.
But I want to try and getmyself a nice VV device, you know something I can change the voltage with diffrent atomizers.

Which device do you think could be best for this? I dont want to spend a small fortune, but I dont want to go to expensive (eg, buying from abroad will cripple me with import tax), I just dont know which device to choose

I have spent hours looking on this forum and the internet but its all a little baffling when it comes to the mods. Can anyone shine some light on this??

Thanks guys!

Right now I'm holding out for the LavaTube. I saw a review of it and it looks great -- variable voltage in .1v increments from 3v to 6v, supposedly to sell for around $40. If it performs well, you are looking at ProVari features at 1/4 the price. Waiting on some reviews.

Oh stop it. You're going to make me buy something. Haha

The UK forum would know better what mods are available in the UK. Check the ecig mods database, browse by feature, and pick your country. You could also check any other country you are willing to order from. You can buy the batteries and charger locally - they are stndard industrial protected lithium ion or safe chemistry AW IMR battery sizes and you want the ones with the nipple on the positive end.

Search e-Cigarette Mods by Specs | e-Cigarette Mods Database

Last I looked Dave's Devices in the UK was unable to get parts (probably because Madvapes stopped shopping internationally) and EcigCity or whatever it was called now said it was going to sell its mods through Liberty-Flights.co.uk (plastic mods I think)

OH make sure you check the UK vendor and UK classified sections in ECF's Buying & Selling section
Buying & Selling

For a first mod I recommend 510 threading and either 3.7v or variable voltage

Ego is 3.4v (switched 3.2/3.6 for an average of 3.4) so your Ego stuff will be a bit hotter on 3.7v. Some Ego stuff may need a 510 shorty extender to fit on a mod.

I originally bought a Megalodon and just today received a Provari from 4 friends that I turned on to vaping. Couldn't afford it myself so they chipped in and bought it as a Bday present. Just starting to fiddle with it but the VV is really nice and I recommend a VV for the ultimate vaping experience. I'm really not looking at the $$ side but I had gifted them 4 Rivas so my Bday gift was not entirely free but it's all good and they're happily analog free.

The Lava Tube looks like a good device, but it has "a" feature of a ProVari, not "the features" of a ProVari. According to what I saw, it's limited to 2A though, so if people are not liking their LR's on a ProVari because they can't vape at 100 watts, they really won't be happy with this.

If the price is as low as stated above though, it looks like it would be a great one to have if you're out working in the garage or something.

OK, so for roughly half the price of a ProVari (not counting batteries or chargers) you can have a similar style with the VV capability. Sounds like a pretty viable option to me. Especially if the batteries are the same, so you don't have to buy those. It may be worth it to have one on hand for those times like working in the yard or something. Don't need the full range of features, but once you get used to VV, it's really hard to let it go.

IMO... I'd try a cheap vv box mod (like Madvapes) or such before spending the bucks on an expensive VV mod. Some people love it, some find that theirs collect dust. If you wind up loving high power vv vaping then you can always spend fat cash on one of the really nice mods and you'll still have that cheap one for a backup, and if you don't care for it... you spent WAY less $ and you can probably get some of that back by selling it on the trade board.:2c: :vapor:

+1 on the ProVari. It's all I use now. Tried several really good, well made mods but this just does it for me. Have never tried the MonkeyBox or some of the other vvs out there but am sick of getting what I almost want then spending more to go the next step. Stopped me on the mod buying and their support if you have problems is 2nd to none.

save yourself the trouble and get a provari. You WILL end up with one eventually anyway. They are worlds apart from everything I have used. Besides every pro here has one.

I now own a Provari but I couldn't justify the price. A simply amazing device with everything you could ever ask for and I am very pleased with it but my Don will always be my first love :hubba:

I know a lot of people think of mods and VV as high voltage and high power vaping, but for me, it's different. I've yet to find anything that I actually like at higher voltages.

For me, VV is all about adding a tenth of a volt here, lowering by one there... All to find that perfect combination that unlocks the maximum flavor potential. I love how different voltages can enhance one flavor and mute another... And just by changing I can alter the taste and get something totally different from the same juice.

Guess that's what makes this whole vaping thing interesting. There's something for everyone.

You need to search the data base that Dormouse posted and narrow it down to a certain style of mod. All the info is in one place which is nice. Once you narrow it down its easier to choose what may be right for you. There are also other mods that are not in the data base. If you buy a mod you dont like you can list it in the classifieds. Good luck in your hunt for the perfect mod and have fun!
