As long as your friend knows what he's doing, it's good to have someone to show you how to do things. Building on an rda deck is easy. Knowing how to do it properly takes times and education. Ask questions. Tons of questions. And make sure you know what you're doing, know about battery safety, ohm's law, and the limits of your mod, and you will be fine.

Totally agree with you, education on these subjects is a must for anyone.
