Practice is the best teacher for using atomizers. With a clean, empty atty I start with 6 drops, take a few primer puffs (no inhaling) and the flavor and vapor begin to flow. Top off with a couple of drops when the flavor begins to diminish, before you get a burnt taste. Too much liquid and you'll hear gurggling with little vapor and weird taste. Uncscrew the atty from the connector, blow the contents into a tissue, discard, add a drop or two and try again.
When your atty is just right you'll hear a sizzle. You'll learn your perfect sizzle sound. A regular resistance atty is a light sizzle where a low resistance atty has more heat and a louder sizzle. I hold my PV near my ear and fire it if it's been sitting for a bit to determine if I'm ready to vape or need liquid. With practice you'll know when to drip and not have to experience a dry atty burnt taste.
When you want to vape, holding down the button for 4 seconds or so before putting the drip tip to your mouth to vape will warm the juice and give you a flavorful, warm vape. Dripping (for me) is the purest form of vaping. I haven't found a cartomizer or tank system that can replicate the flavor and experience of dripping. It can be a hassle when mobile. At home or work it's no big deal. Many use attys only to taste juice then fill cartos. Thats easier with a faster learning curve. Good luck.
